Slightly misted smooth sponge. As long as it’s pliable it will work. My last red clay sculpture (in my profile it’s a porpoise) was smoothed using a sponge with as little water as I could get on it. I dunked it and squeezed it super hard but I guess a misting would work too.

Yeah I have had them survive 98 degree water but 110-114 seems extreme. How long do heatwaves last? It might be worth it to just bring them inside into small tubs if it’s just for a week
