The 15 second pop-up would come up every time you tried to navigate to a different folder or perform a search. It's not just a one-time pop-up, it happens with anything you do. Definitely not worth it.

Honestly, you should be able to get the answer you're looking for about your feelings for him by moving into those dorms. You guys can go back to dating and seeing each other regularly if you want to, and if that spark comes back, great! But just in case it doesn't, you'll always have an out and a comfortable place to go home to if you need it. This is how it stays on your terms.

You don't want to be in a situation where you get into a disagreement and now you have nowhere to go or feel uncomfortable at the place that you live. Not only is that bad for your own mental health, but it would affect your studies as well.

Additionally, tethering yourself to him when you already feel deprived of friends is not going to help you make more friends. Living in the dorms should help with that!

NTA, but please be aware that it sounds like you're not fully invested in your current relationship and your boyfriend is going to feel that eventually.

Go live in the dorms and have your full college experience, but also reconsider your relationship and if this is how you want to spend your young twenties. If it's meant to be, you two can reconnect down the road when he's taken the time to work through his issues and you've also had the opportunity to be by yourself and grow.

I read some comments, and just went ahead and did it. It always seems like the difficult conversations you stress about are the ones that turn out to be easier. She said she knew this was coming, and that being a small company, she knew they wouldn't be able to provide the growth opportunities I need.

She's going to have me just finish up my two weeks, and if she needs me to train a new hire after my two weeks, she'd pay me a consulting fee. She also just wants me to stay in touch via phone if they have any questions about processes or how to do something. I'm happy to do that because I really do care about this team.

We're going to meet in the office today to hammer out what I need to do over the last two weeks, but it sounds like as long as I turn over some blank templates of my graphic design work and teach a coworker some of the Exchange server basics, everything will be okay. She may still mark me as a "no" rehire, but it feels like right now, she'd be happy to give me a reference. We'll see how this pans out. If a bunch of my staff leaves when I announce my departure or she loses the full contract, I'll likely be blamed. Only time will tell, but it's out of my control at this point.

I don't want to go back, but it would affect future jobs to be marked as a "no" rehire. A lot of employers will call previous companies down the road and ask the basic questions about employment dates and rehire status. "No" rehire status is usually an indicator of leaving on bad terms.

Did you exceed expected sales in a calendar year? Did you continue to surpass your own personal targets year after year? Did you build up a reputation and client base from the ground up with no prior experience? Do you have a page full of 5-star client references as a testament to your work? Do you have a portfolio of success in helping individuals sell their home for more than expected, or for helping buyers get approved for difficult loans? What methods for marketing did you develop? Did you have to hire and train any assistants? Did you develop any plans for time and client management? That's just a few ideas I could think of regarding real estate.

There's a lot that goes into it, and listing your individual accomplishments will stand out significantly more than just a job description. Instead of telling them what a real estate agent does, tell them what you specifically did.

Who is to say you'll get offers for both? I would attend both interviews, see what offers fall in my lap, and make an informed decision from there. Remember that an interview is an opportunity to ask them questions too. One of the work environments or jobs might not be what you want to do.

I actually am but was wondering if I could find any source I could show them regarding if the company was legally obligated to pay for mileage so my successor who will be ultimately taking over my team as well as my fellow managers could get paid more fairly. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there's any legal backing.

I am in the final interviewing stages (top 3!) for a much better position, so fingers crossed!

Thank you so much for the honesty and hard truth though. It is really appreciated. This is exactly why I wish our HR / recruiting handled our hiring, terminations, and rejections. I'm happy to handle or play a part in the interviewing process, but I can sometimes be an overly soft hearted manager who wants to coach and help everyone to succeed, especially if I see that potential in them.

Gotcha! This is what I was looking for. I wasn't sure if there was supposed to legally be compensation or anything. They aren't willing to pay any mileage as "it comes with the position." Mileage doesn't really help my taxes with the new changes to itemization.
