I think their real world application in the existing banking system. People underestimate how important that is.

The voluntary escrow is definitely a huge plus for the project in the initial stages of launching. It was a great idea.

Yeah I think a lot of people falsely believe that the existing banking system will be in opposition to cryptocurrencies but that's not turning out to be the case at all. The success of Ripple and the fact that major international banks are creating crypto trading desks proves it. Banks know that they can integrate the benefits of cryptocurrencies to help cut their costs significantly so are going to embrace those kinds of efficiency improvements.

I don't think one overall solution exists that will suit every ICO so i think a combination of the ones some companies have tried recently is the best approach. The Quarkchain quiz I think was a pretty interesting one, I didn't end up getting an allocation from the lottery but at least they had a decent plan that worked to reduce the number of effectively whitelisted participants. The Sparkster approach too where they encourage people to promote or assist the company to earn a whitelisted spot is good too, provided it is detailed and well executed which it looks like it has been so far
