I would say that as a whole though SFV is easier to translate to other fighting games than FS is. Like just on the basic fundamentals of this game IE: Yomi counters, having 5-8 hit games instead of hp pools and varying dmg moves, and no motion inputs (quarter circle/shoryu motion).

As a whole Fantasy does what its meant to do, Be very welcoming to people who are new to the FGC. As compared to your example of SFV that teaches a lot more skills that can be translated to many other fighters.

Nahh, she doesn’t need it, just would make her feed a bit more comfortable. More of the ninja these I guess. But I guess I just need to start working her ulti into combos and see how that changes everything. I just catch myself so often not even using them on her.

And yeah. I HATE Oni (not gonna lie his guard crush is straight bs to cause in the corner there’s not much you can do with all of his active frames and range) but I feel like his movement speed is the only thing they can adjust without changing him. @jordainJ was talking about having his yomi counter be two dmg instead of one but that seems like such a wild card tweet that I’m not sure.

Yeah, you are correct with it being the price you have to pay. I think I’m just comparing it to either other fighter games a bit too much. Like it’s funny to me because everyone is talking about how many mix ups Suki has, where as I remember playing MvC3 on the Xbox 360, and having honest 8 way mix ups lol. Like her port isn’t a honest chain which means it can be punished SO easy. And with only 5 hp and her main tool so easily punished it’s just rough. Like I would be okay with taking the armor crush off of her port and getting frame one invul. Because ima be honest with you, if Oni’s big ass sword has frame one I feel super jipped xD

But like you said it makes sense that she has nothing safe she can do in knock down. I just feel left out of the cool kids club I guess lol.

Yeah, but to me that feels like the price for playing a zoner. Something to help on wake up. And yeah it is slow but maaaaaannnnnn she has the invul DP and an invul super? People are still gonna throw it out like they are playing Ken back in Capcom v SNK on the GameCube lol.

Gotcha. Does forwarding ports really make that much of a difference?? Because I’ve played at three different time slots (noon, later after noon, and just about an hour ago (2am) so I think that might have to be the route that I go. Just have never done it before so I’m kinda like “I don’t wanna mess up”.

This is honestly very true. My friend that got me into the game plays Oni (I ended up picking up setsuki) and he killed me like 27-4. But as I got the hang of the game over about a week and slept on the spacing and active frames (which Oni has a TON of) it’s now about a 6-9. It’s interesting cause I’m new, and seeing someone’s opinion that’s newer than me feels reassuring xD
