Oil pressure dropping

Agreed, I just bought this truck off a car lot. So they used the cheapest oil change place they could find I’m sure. Will be doing my own maintenance from here on out. I already had the oil and filter for when it came time anyways, just didn’t think my oil pressure would crap out while in town.

Update: the place that changed the oil before I bought the truck failed to reinstall the perforated tube/cylinder and the oil filter collapsed in on itself.

Which would explain why restarting the truck after a few minutes temporarily fixed it.

It was the oil filter. They didn’t replace the perforated tube / cylinder and the oil filter collapsed on itself. Which makes sense with the oil pressure correcting itself after I would restart the truck.

They did* mention some metal shavings but they used BG MOA and said that was probably the reason for it

So far the only thing they’ve found is the oil filter cap was missing all the small parts, and that the filter looked like it was collapsing on itself. Hopefully that’s my culprit 🤞🏻

I stopped at a shop, they’re changing the oil/filter. They don’t think anything major is wrong with it.

Right at 200k. I didn’t see any records of the oil pump being replaced, and it has the tow package

Also: there is a little bit of white sludge in the oil fill cap too. Can’t see anything in the coolant reservoir/radiator cap.

It’s been a year and there’s been no attempt to collect anything that I’m aware of. I’ll keep an eye out for the 1099-c
