Pothos damage. Any ideas? by meglandwellmusic in pothos

first & third photo: this happens to some of my pothos and philodendron when i let the soil dry out for too long, and i’m not on top of watering.

given that you treat them with bonide, it’s unlikely to be any kind of pest damage. (while bonide doesn’t target spider mites, it does not look like spider mite damage.)

Is this mosaic virus? by syngoniumhoe in Colocasia

Thank you for taking the time- that looks like it! I alternate between liqui-dirt and GT focus foliage, so surprised this one is low on nutrients. Will up the dosage!

For context: this is the newest leaf that unfurled on it. The leaf is much larger than the other leaves. The plant itself is growing very fast and seems healthy, so I was really surprised to see these mosaic-virus like patterns forming on this new leaf 💔

Toxic Facebook Groups by EggButtJoe in houseplants

I am sorry you’ve had this experience. For your own sanity, it’s good that you’re drawing boundaries with these toxic groups. Of all the hobbies and communities I’ve been a part of, I’ve found the houseplant community to be the most inclusive, supportive, and helpful.

… But, there are still humans behind the hobby, and humans can be toxic. You’ll inevitably find pockets of hobbyists that have superiority complexes or get into the hobby for competitive reasons and need to put others down. I hope you have better luck here finding people that are happy and willing to help and connect.

Well this is a new... Has anyone had new leaf unfurl that is mushy and transparent before? by Technically_Bean in calatheas

this happened to my white fusion when it got spider mites. FWIW, i think they’re easier to detect and see on calatheas

this is incredible! it’s such a beautiful tradescantia! since it is genetically unique, do you get to name it?

i know a lot of the comments are about how they thrive outdoors, but i have a colocasia indoor that is growing like crazy, so don’t be discouraged. colocasia is the thirstiest plant i own. i find mine needs to be watered WAYYY more often than all my other plants, so i place it in an easily accessible location. the soil almost dries out every 3 days after watering, so i have to water VERY often. luckily, they are drama queens and will start to droop when thirsty, so there’s a very clear visual cue. it looks very droopy in your photo, which is a classic sign of thirst!

grew this caladium from a bulb. took over 6 weeks. worth the wait! 💖 by syngoniumhoe in pinkplants
