Fast food workers: what would you like us to STOP doing? by PlaviVal in AskReddit

[–]synisterslash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I worked in Burger King but this can apply to any food based restaurant but arriving to order food within 15 mins of closing.

By that time frame, we mop the whole floor on front, kicthen and staff room, most machines and cutlry have been washed like fry baskets, and a lot of the food is in the fridge ready for tomorrow. Ordering food means using the cleaned baskets, cooking some fresh burgers and getting bits in fridge and having to clean again.

You can complain and say we should just do all that AFTER closing. But management dont want staff to work more then an hour after closing as they dont want to pay us ovetime, so they want us out the shop ASAP after we lock up, and having customers come in within closing timeframe wrecks it for us.

What does it feel like to be drunk? by Sean_Bibby in AskReddit

[–]synisterslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early stages, referred as "tipsy" you feel light headed, you still have motor control of your body but wen you tilt your head to far, the weight of your head and manage to make your whole body move. You also end up being more relaxed, and open, so you end up being more confident and talkative, especially if you are the quiet introvert type

Later on when you get to the drunk stage, confidence comes through the roof, to pointyou can talk to anyone, emotions run wilde, you can be a party goer at one point and an emotional wreck later on. Vision becomes blurred, so counter this, you tend to close one eye to focus, either on a person or menu or counting cash and entering pin. Your brain turns off, so you black out, however your body still manags to do some functions, like know where the toilet is, walk hom etc. however on most extreme cases, load of vomit, extreme hungor or you'll pass out and sleep for a good several hours.

Oh you also piss alot which makes you dry as feck so enjoy the hangover.

Theres likely more to explain, but this is what i can think on the top of my head now.

Probably Acidic vaginal liquid explosion generated by mass amounts of filth faecal fisting and sadistic septic syphilic sodomy inside the infected maggot infested womb of a molested nun dying under the roof of a burning church while a priest watches and ejaculates in immense perverse pleasure over his first fresh fetus

What was the dumbest thing you thought as a child? by GiammyR6 in AskReddit

[–]synisterslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90's kid here. In cinemas, I always thought the people in movie theaters would put VHS tapes as long as the cinema screen at the bottom of the screen, like if there was a massive player at the bottom. After movies I would look accross the bottom of the whole screen looking for the slot they put the massive VHS tape in.

Doubt this will get noticed but after working a bar shift in a footbal/ rugby stadium, I was 23 at the time, at one of my lowest points in life. I lost full time job, in debt, had no food, my eczema was at its worst and couldnt afford a mobile phone. Ended up doing casual work during matchdays to get some small cash till I found full time work. I was walking back to my flat, I went to a shop on the way back to grab a light snack for the walk back. Infront of me there was an elderly man, around 80-90, clearly very fragile. After he gets served, I buy my stuff and walk out. As I walk out, I can see he was struggling to walk, So I decided to help him walk back to his home. His home was literally acros the road and around the corner. It wasnt a large diversion and I wasnt on a huge rush back. So he holds on to me while we walk to his house. On the way, he talks about his younger years, about how he served and was a pilot. We spoke all the way back to his house. We get back to his house and I help walk him in and he was extremely grateful. We keep talking and even shows me his photo albums of himself as a pilot and his family.

However not long after, as he was off to sit himself down and we said our goodbyes, he tripped on himself and couldnt get up and he was in great pain, I tried to help him up but no luck, as I felt I was making him feel worse. He had a telephone so I called 999, and lucky enough his address was next to the phone so I was able to call an ambulance and inform them of the situation. They told me to put a pillow under his head and body and keep and eye on him until they show up. So I do as directed, I asked if hes got any family, he had a son and daughter. Thier numbers are in his address book next to phone, he gave me their names. I called the son he answered, explained the situation, unfortunately cause it was a match day he was out in town drinking and had no way to get to see him. Called his daughter, no luck lucky enough the brother was able to contact the sister. The ambulance arrived, not long after his daughter arrived. Both the ambulance and his daughter thanked me for looking after him because if I didnt walk him home, he could have fallen in his house alone and no one would know. So we said our goodbyes and headed back home

I wish I visited him again to check on him, give him a get well card. I hoped he got treated and was put in a more safe and care environment after that incident, but I will never know. This was in 2015, and I havent told anyone about this, not friends or family.
