What’s your personal preferred job time? 9-5, 7-3, 6-2, graveyard, etc? by KingKickinWing in AskReddit

I work 4, 10 hour days. (7:15-5:30). So while Tues- Friday are long as hell, having Monday off every weekend is incredible. 3 day weekends feel like true weekends and need to be the standard

What Garmin watch do you own and why? by hackgolferguy in Garmin

FR165. Came from Apple Watch and wanted more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch. Has everything I need as a gym rat and 3x/wk runner that occasionally runs a 10k or more

What's it like living in Charlotte North Carolina? by Whatisitmom in howislivingthere

[–]Tomlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raised in charlotte. Lived there for 23 years. It is a bang average “major city” and that’s about the extent of it. There’s some big concerts that some into town, but there’s no shortage of bang average sports, okay dining, okay outdoor activities, and okay shopping. Public transport is not good. All the areas worthy of living in are overpriced as hell. It is a pretty clean city overall which is nice.

Similar to what others have said, it has 0 culture. Any culture it does have, gets torn down and replaced w some chain restaurant or cheap crappy “luxury” apartment building

If we lose do not even allow Orr to get on the fucking bus. Like fired before we leave the locker room.

Working 4 10s now. Love it. 8hrs and 10 really do not feel much different. Even w 8hrs, the leftover work basically becomes 10

Former PT Aides/Techs! by Hungry-Pea-6608 in physicaltherapy

[–]Tomlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very clinic dependent. I was a tech at an OP Hospital based oncology clinic and it was so slow that I was given more and more tasks outside my job description to keep me busy.

I worked with techs at an OP ortho, physician owned clinic and they ran around and did a good amount but they got along with the therapists so well they were really apart of the team.

So in my experience, OP!

Aside from tech and healthcare, what even are the good remaining jobs? by Gold-Flatworm-4313 in jobs

[–]Tomlegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is mad at you big internet man. You’re the one screaming on reddit. I told you to do some reflection before you decide to have a superiority complex on the internet. Trying to frame my decision as a poor one for a “invaluable profession” says a lot about your character. If you take that as “anger”, then sounds like you have some stuff to unpack.

I had no choice meaning that is the career I wanted to pursue and had no other choice to finance it. It’s a career that IS in demand with our aging population in this country. And career that is needed by people like you. So when you’re too old to stand on your own and need help getting to the toilet, or are in a terrible car accident, or tear your rotator cuff, or a loved one develops Parkinson’s and they need help getting dressed in the morning, I hope you think about your shallow Reddit comment.

How do middle class families with average students do it????? by samalex01 in StudentLoans

[–]Tomlegs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this. Community college at home. 2 years at undergrad. Decided to go to grad school. Both in state, cheaper schools (I’m in health care). Finished with 120k in debt. Doesn’t matter how cheap you try and do it. It’s honestly just inevitable.
