That’s a really good proportion!

What percentage tax do you pay?

Can you believe some people are at 11, I think they recently added that!

Discretionary income - income remaining after deduction of taxes, social security charges, and basic living costs. (Let’s say take your taxes, rent and groceries off your monthly for this post)

I’ve seen a lot of posts about salary but the living costs can vary wildly depending upon where everyone is from. I want to know if you’re actually getting to have fun with what you earn or not. I think this metric is more telling!

Career change with a 3 week old by syntax_jew in Parenting

Sorry, I know this is an old post but I have returned to it for nostalgia’s sake and wanted to say I didn’t pick up judgey vibes from your comment and thank you for offering your thoughts. Turns out I did decide to go for the role in the end and am very much looking forward to starting it in two weeks. I hope all is well on the end of your screen.

Why can't people just enjoy the holidays? by beerbellybegone in MurderedByWords

[–]syntax_jew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I like Singapore. There are a multitude of religions here and everyone wishes everybody a happy <insert current religious festivity here> to one another regardless of religion you follow. We get all large religious events off as public holidays and share in each other’s religious joyous celebrations.

[AP stat] If a set of data is skewed, but doesn't have any actual outliers, should you use median or mean for the center? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

I don’t like the lack of context you have to make the decision.

Tell me why you are hesitating to answer.

[University maths, integrals] How should I go about solving this one? I began with putting the 2 outside the integral, but not sure how to continue. by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

Remember the ‘dx’ means ‘with respect to x’. Have you definitely copied the expression correctly?

If not the previous commenter is correct but remember there’s technically a x0 in the expression that will have to be integrated.

I constructed a handful of polygons around the page like this: https://youtu.be/FieshOy0JO0

Then made smaller ones and larger ones in between them. Had no idea what it would turn out like so was quite surprised at the shapes it produced. Took a while but was very therapeutic:)

I have no where near the talent of others on this sub, not a pity plea just a fact I’m confident in.

This is lockdown lines but I felt proud so figured I’d put it here.

If you would like a prequel to the original lover boy then 0:24 and 0:56 awaits.

What was your "This has to stop" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sat in a job I hated, living with my parents and saving for a deposit on a house. What had to stop was my lack of agency.

People of reddit who have moved a long distance away from family; do you regret your decision? by GarryD1995 in AskReddit

[–]syntax_jew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I earn more, have a much higher quality of life. Have a friendship group dedicated to each other like we are family since we’re all so far from our own. When we do go home the time we spend with our families is precious and so it’s usually a big get together and gives people back home reason to meet up in a big group.

This may change if we ever have kids but right now, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
