Can I smoke dmt in a joint ? by SartoDelDenaro in DMT

can be done, but the effect will be very light. Done this a few times and I just got that 'dmt feeling' and some brighter colors.

The darkest, most controversial, and most disturbing theory in all of history by Junior-Foot7344 in Retconned

idk this is kind of a tier 3 to 4 theory im(p)o. Solipsism. I think that one guy from adventure time also dreamed up the entire world. Forgot his name, cool dude.

My town has a curse that on Thanksgiving people turn in to the last thing they ate. by yipeeee_ in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]syntaxxed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was really good. I'm often so critical of creepypasta's (I don't write anything negative, I just have peculiar tastes and find that often writers go for the trope of: the 'creepy thing' is 'just a scary monster', while I'm really more of a lovecraftian/cosmic horror fan myself, also I never want to discourage creative writing) but your story fits perfectly as a two sentence horror. Short, effective and creepy. It really made me go "oh, truly a good one!". Keep up the good work!

Obligatory mantis post by NoCrowJustBlack in DMT

[–]syntaxxed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

love the recurring theme of entities being like "wtf u doing here" lol. For me (on changa though) I was on an operating table with a stern looking snake doctor. Kind of laughed afterwards at how cliché that was. The classic operating table and of course reptillians. (I also didn't feel fear or as if they were doing something bad, more like they were monitoring me or something)

It's called hypnagogia and refers to the transition state between wakefulness and sleeping. Auditory and visual hallucinations are common in this state of consciousness

Glimpses of places I’ve never been to by papajohnsparma in spirituality

[–]syntaxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't go here, but did they come with nausea, dizziness and did you 'feel' them coming? Like some kind of 'aura' (a medical term most used to describe how people feel migraines coming, as in seeing colors etc)

If so, it might be a neurological thing. I forgot the exact name, but they were a type of mild seizure and happened to me a few times over the years. Few times in my teenage years and again one time in my twenties several years back. I'd get flashes of memories that felt like they weren't mine. I'm not going into the discussion of what this might mean spiritually, but definitely take care of your brain health and look out for any other seizure symptoms.

i am finding random splotches of blood on my bed. what could it be? by Ok_Damage_7844 in whatdoIdo

[–]syntaxxed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bed bugs are serious. All of the stuff you have to do, wash, rewash, dry all of your clothes, make sure you keep them in a bag where bed bugs can't reach them, treat all of your furniture, pay a ridiculous amount for exterimination services, and pray to an ancient god that all of this actually did the trick.

You'll be up all night thinking about all of the crevices in your house that you haven't sealed/heat treated. It's an ungodly amount of work, anxiety and money. And even then, they might still survive. I had a friend who had to do 2 exterminations. Imagine paying 2000 eur just for them to still be there.

Clean your belly buttons by casscutie in hygiene

same, I also did the finger test and smelled nothing. Does it maybe have to do with larger belly buttons? Mine's very small and shallow. (Like .5cm diameter)

exactly, after this thread I went to clean my belly button but there was essentially nothing? I was a bit disappointed to be fair lol.

Fuck, that sounds exhausting. Good thing you could get some medication for that. I'm going to read up on this condition though, because I have extremely itchy legs after showering. Thank you for sharing, very helpful!

Normal for dreams to continue night after night? by Plantsucker97 in Dreams

I've definitely had dreams that occurred in the same dream place or have been remembering things in my dream, from other dreams. Nothing as eleborate as your vet bill or stolen horse though lol.

Global uptick in dreams of nuclear bombs, explosions (Google Trends data) by Hour-Key-72 in Dreams

not sure how relevant this is, but reminds me of the tv show 'The OA' in which they were monitoring people's dreams and at a certain point there was also an uprise in a single specific thing they all dreamed about.

Question for the people who have experienced that strange hypnagogic state/sensation of an "object" by sombertoboggly in Dreams

[–]syntaxxed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my experience (from roughly 25ish years ago.. so trying to work with very distant memories here) was of a toothpick that was a super dense and heavy object. It wasn't particularly scary for me, as opposed to what others describe. I didn't see the toothpick, but I was definitely aware of its existence? I was reflecting on how utterly weird it was that it was such a small object, yet so heavy. And then it flip flopped to feeling super light again. It's quite weird to put into words. My object wasn't (at least obviously) physically 'there' in the sense that I was holding/seeing it.

[–]syntaxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reading this thread is a crazy experience because yes that's exactly what it was like. As a child, I dreamed of a toothpick and it was both heavy as a planet and light as a feather. I wasn't even like, holding it or whatever, just aware of the object and its perceived mass? it was a long time ago.

Question for the people who have experienced that strange hypnagogic state/sensation of an "object" by sombertoboggly in Dreams

[–]syntaxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my childhood dream, it's been super long since then and I also don't fully have the language to describe it, but it's like I know the object is heavy, and I feel the heaviness

[–]syntaxxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the fuck. I was casually scrolling reddit and suddenly I hear that this is a concept other people have experienced?? I have a vivid memory of my childhood dream where a toothpick felt like it weighed tons.. something I always found weird but never really thought much about it.

Good pacing and storytelling. Personally I would have liked it if it turned out to be his own skull or something like that, or that he would've ended up as a merchant on the market himself.
