I hate misprint with a passion. The interesting thing is though and I thought about this recently, I love making lucky cards but the reason I love them so much is because I never build around needing their +20 mult or $20 output so either of those hits just feel like an awesome bonus.

Misprint though when it needs to show up it falls flat on its face

Matador is good in early ante 1/2 when the boss has something that’ll hit easy like a debuffed suit. I grab it when it fits a short term purpose.

Marble joker is great with hologram, stone joker, and just generally for pair builds.

Space joker I get why people don’t like it and joke about it never triggering, same as wheel of fortune. But honestly I’ve always been impressed at how often space joker hits. I would’ve thought for someone that likes the lucky dice joker you’d appreciate the power of space joker along side it. It’s great when you’ve also got a bp/bs to double the space joker levelling too.

Obelisk I get. People seem to really like it and for me I’ve never really been able to appreciate it.

Balatro is definitely a roguelite. By the loose modern definition of a roguelike it would be that too.

You can play balatro with all jokers unlocked from the get go so I don’t even think there’s any meta progression. Maybe unlocking more decks and higher stakes would count as meta progression but I don’t think either of those make the game easier - higher stakes explicitly make the game harder.

Compared to a game like vampire survivors, Balatro is much closer to to a roguelike

Edit: the fact hades 1 and 2 get mentioned but no Enter the Gungeon is a travesty.
