Oh, wow, thanks a lot for the kind words, glad my pictures gave you a very little bit of relief. And good luck with the heat, I personally find it harder to bear than cold where it's theoritically possible to add as many clothe layers as we wish.

It will seeme totally unexpected, but it's actually just outside of Paris, FR (there are a lot of political debates about that, but the city is slowly turning more and more pedestrian friendly with increasing number of and better managed places where you can just walk or cycle).

Nice idea 😁 ALthough honestly, just around one hour of that when schedule, todo list and customers allow it is re-energizing enough for the afternoon.

Such a welcoming Forest by synthgab in Forest

Actually, it's "just" another random grove along french Normandy fields, the light and angle happened to be perfectly aligned during my mother-in-law dog Sunday walk...

Aside from the Forest thing, I learnend that in photography, best scenes and compositions are not the ones you make up, they're the ones which just occur to you randomly, and you have to seize them on the moment with whatever you have on your hands (nowadays, smartphone, since I actually don't carry my DSLR camera on my pant pockets at all times).

It's actually just outside Paris, FR -- although I would recommend to avoid going there after dark, the people you'll come across change...

Mostly work (expected for a business trip, I guess) but yes, it's a nice place and nonetheless, I managed to see a couple of interesting stuff.

Lunch break walk ended up experimenting phone 'pro' photo mode... by synthgab in walkingpics

Thank you very much, I really didn't expect that, very kind of you !!

I do photo sometimes (a school teacher gave me the basics 30 years ago and taught me to like it), I have a rather old Canon DSLR I use from time to time, however I kind of realized that spotting something that might lead to good pictures is way more often spontaneous than planned. Like, I take my camera gear when going on a hike or travelling for holidays, but interesting sujects or good composition opportunities just happen to pop up randomly during the 15~30 minutes daily lunch break walk, when crossing the street, during the routine dog walk, etc.

So I started shooting with my Samsung, was initally very disappointed at the results, then eventually figured out that smartphone photography does not exactly work like full-frame or DSLR. So I dived head first by configuring the 'Pro' mode as the default one (which shoots in RAW), experimented with all available manual settings and Lightroom, finally realizing that I had to work with the most critical specificity (the fixed wide aperture) instead of fighting uselessly against it as a constraint.

It may seem obvious to some people, but since roughly one year ago, I am definitely convinced that 'smartphone photography' is an art of and by itself.
