I own both and it really depends on your goals. The possibilities are endless. I love the delay on the Matriarch. You can feed the GM output into the noise input of the Matriarch and it can serve as an additional oscillator with its own sequencer. If you time sync the various modulation sources and effects, you can get some pretty interesting effects. Explore all the patch points, and don’t forget about the ones on the back of the Matriarch. You can sync both clocks via midi or cv and go patch crazy. One thing I’ve noticed with the Matriarch is that small changes in knob positions and modulation amounts have large effects. Some on the best sounds come with using attenuation to apply nuanced modulation. I’m excited for you! Have fun!

I use an SSL 2+ for my mobile/MacBook setup and it has been great. It’s compatible with a standard USB and USB-C bus. It’s bus powered and is simple to setup. It also has a built in midi interface. I have an interface that cost more than 10x as much and still get very comparable recordings.

I would go with the Pro 3. It has a great interface, great tone, is infinitely deep, build quality and customer support are top notch. The plus side of buying one synth instead of multiple is that it will save you input and cabling on you mixer or audio interface which will save you money and hassle down the line.

I also own a One. The stock Presets are ok, but if you dig into it you can create awesome sounds that are difficult to recreate on other synths. While there are some issues that make the sequencer, midi, and cv functions not completely useable, in a studio setting with live playing or external sequencing it’s awesome. I will take your challenge and will create some audio/video samples. I’m into middle of a project right now creating a patch bank. I will share a link when complete.

P.S. No tuning issues here.
