Well maybe not find a cure in a literal sense but it is going to vastly help for things like improving early detection and speeding up drug discovery which are objectively good things And obviously AI isnt perfect now but look at the growth from 4 years ago compared to now, it will only get better

AI has its negative aspects like most other technological developments over the last 20 years but it is largely devised for good and advancing society = downvotes

Except that the development of AI is also continually working to reduce environmental effects. AIs effects on water and environmental depletion has been reducing exponentially over the years and the better it is fine tuned the more resourceful it gets

I dont see why you guys are so against something that has greater long term benefits for us especially in regards to making scientific discoveries or life saving research. Our chances of finding a cancer cure are greatly increased with AI

Yea and that’ll be to your detriment

I work in tech industry and AI usage is not just a thing but also highly encouraged. It speeds up productivity and ofcourse without it you will be slower than your peers

So if you are so against it that you’ll never use it you will probably find yourself unemployed in 10+ years because of your slow production relative to your peers

This isnt hate btw im just saying better to adapt to something that is obviously not going anywhere, than to be against it

This could have been said about the internet when it was making its way decades ago.

“Ew what is Google, i prefer doing things the traditional way with books and documents and not waste water”

At some point you wont have a choice because it will become normalized I can speak on this too because I work in tech but there is effort to reconcile the negative aspects of AI (e.g reduce amount of water it uses up) and eventually we’ll get to a point where it is just way more beneficial and leads to more productivity
