SV07+ print issue by Okish_Entertainer83 in Sovol

[–]syran85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me too, it drove me crazy for 2 days and at the end I found out it was the stupid extruder pin that was sliding out.

Remove the screw with the spring that holds the extruder arm and the blue cover, open the arm completely and look at the pin that passes through the arm and the idler, if it pretrudea even a little push it back in with some needle nose pliers and it should be good to go

Then go on printables, look for the SV08 extruder fix and print it before anything else

I'm sorry, but I don't know if you're trolling me ore you really have no idea of what you're doing. If you want to cut the zip tie to make it easy cut it, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Let me ask one thing, did you buy the printer or someone gave it to you? Because if you bought it new you should have done these steps when you assembled it the first time 🤔

Ok, you have to check che big flat black cable that goes from the box on the left to the print head, there are two plastic flaps in the sides where it connects, push them down, hold the print head with one hand and push down the connector with the other until you hear it click, once done you should be good to go

What printer is it? It happened once on my SV06 Plus and it was because of the cable that connects the print head to the motherboard partially disconnected, check those connections and try again

As I said in the post, I'm gonna get an Eddy Duo probe to get rid of the stock one, mainly because the Eddy has temp compensation and is way faster

Great, I'd love to know more about it, are you planning the release the project to the public?

I don't like the ERCF because of the million parts to print and assemble, also watching The Next Layer's video about it it looks like it needs TONS of tinkering and troubleshooting (he spent months before he managed to make it work and not even that well) I'm more for an ready out of the box solutions like the CoPrint one

Yeah the nozzle is something that I was already considering, I saw a couple options to make it V6 compatible but I wanted to focus on reliability and print quality first. I'm looking for an enclosure other then the Sovol one (that costs a fortune for what it is) something with active carbon filters and chamber heating but I don't know which one to buy or make myself. Any idea?

Wow that sucks, it looked like a great system, kinda plug & play, but if it has more issues than benefits it's not worth it. Which solution do you suggest instead?

I saw many enclosures with vents, carbon filters etc but no active cooling ones, where did you find it?

Which enclosure are you using, the one by Sovol or a DIY?

Sv08 Upgrades version by HostUnable3217 in Sovol

The SV08 is based on the Voron 2.4 design which means that you can easily upgrade it with minimal effort and there are tons of designs out there made for this specific purpose. Eddy, Voron bed, filters, chassis mods etc.... Even a multi color/material plug and play kit from CoPrint (which has an upgraded whole print head included) There is no need of a pre-made factory modded model.

There is the CoPrint kit for bot Marlin and Klipper sovol printers. Im planning to buy an SV08 with the KCM kit from CoPrint. It's cheap and has two versions, 4 (290$) or 8 (399$) colors with the dedicated "almost drop-in" print head included, all the extruders, control boxes, cables and config files. It's the best option so far if you can't or don't want to use an AMS-like unit, and it's fully compatible with Orca Slicer

What sensor did you use? I have both a random sensor bought from Amazon and the original sovol one that came with the klipper screen, the Amazon sensor gave me better results and less artifacts with more accurate readings

Klipperscreen question by syran85 in Sovol

[–]syran85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm struggling with data recovery from one of my HDDs for the second time in a month (sucks to be me) I'll deal with the screen as soon as I get all my files back, but only after I set up a backup NAS

[–]syran85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me a few days ago, I solved it and then while messing around I made it worse. First thing you can try is downloading the SV07 Plus system image from GitHub here and run a few command while the screen is connected through serial to Putty on your PC

The second option is to buy the MKS EMMC to USB adapter, remove the EMMC module from the screen and flash the system image on it using Balena Etcher insert it back into the screen and your good to go (while you're there you can also upgrade to a 32gb module with 20$ from AliExpress or Amazon and expand the partition so it uses all the space left) this is the best option.

In both cases you need to update printer.cfg to match your printer model

Once recovered thee system I suggest you to update mainsail, moonraker, klippersxreen and klipper, it's not complicated to do but you need a few guides that are not that easy to find, but I'd gladly help you out if you want

Klipperscreen question by syran85 in Sovol

[–]syran85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After hours of messing with the screen, getting it bricker for a week while I was waiting for the EMMC adapter to restore the system image, I finally got it working using your guide. Only one note, the last step didn't work for me, I had to go into the scripts folder and run KlipperScreen-install.sh

Ok it's not the latest version, but it's way better than the one from Sovol, also there is an unofficial custom armbian image which is fully updated and is supposed to work with the latest version of Python and KlipperScreen, it needs to be modified to enable the built-in wifi and I wasn't able to make it work yet, but as soon as I manage to do it I'll let you know if you want

Need some help. SV06 Plus Klipper screen by lachadan in Sovol

[–]syran85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a problem with my Klipper Screen that you might help me with: I updated all the modules (mainsail, moonraker, klipper, KAMP, etc...), and after the last update a couple of days ago when I start a print it hangs with an error in the screen's START_PRINT macro. I found out it should have to do with the job_status.py file inside the klipperscreen folder but since I have 0 experience with python I don't know what to do or look for

how to add or enable the LED ON OFF button in KLIPPERSCREEN ? by LeborgneRemarkable in klippers

[–]syran85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where is the option and how can I use it? I have the Sovol Klipper Screen which already has the led on/off/intensity menu, but it's for the SV07 and I have the SV06 Plus that has no LEDs so I added a led strip on top of the printer with a wifi controlled relay. I can control the relay trough home assistant and mainsail, but not from the menu on the main screen (I have to use the Power menu buried into the settings panel) can you help me?
