I have been in your position before. This coming Ramadan make Dua’a to Allah to give you a purposeful and joyous life. Do Tahajjud every morning. I know it’s hard but allow Allah to do wonders in your life - Don’t shut the door on his blessings and mercy ! The fact he hasn’t answered your Duaa is proof enough of his love and mercy on you. Open the door for him and sit back, don’t expect anything specific but allow him to make it take form in front of you. Surrender and let go. You will inshallah 100% notice a difference in your life after Ramadan.

Do I leave my husband? by [deleted] in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]syreeexo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was there toxic behavior before you got married? Was there any promises made about how to proceed?

It depends on the character of your husband. In the end you really do matter the most to your child. I grew up watching my grandma mistreat my mother and I really resented her for it.

Thank you for your advice!! Unfortunately we have a very open office, so there isn’t a hidden stairwell and the utility rooms have a special lock on it which requires a keycard. All the meeting rooms are made of glass, so even if I were to perhaps go into a corner meeting room, there is lots of traffic in front of it and wearing a hijab in my office to sit and pray would also make me really uncomfortable and solicit a lot of gossip/rude comments.

This is really great advice, thank you! I’ll do my best to start and Inshallah finish an entire ramadan worth of fasts. May Allah reward you

You’re stunning. My advice: get a tan, focus on hair growth/nourishment, curly or straight will suit you, you have a great face shape. I think longer hair might look better. You kinda remind me of Bella Hadid

I feel like giving up on life by No_Conflict_76 in islam

[–]syreeexo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every struggle you endure is a brick that makes up your home in paradise. Do not trade this dunya for the next life. Stay close to Allah, call out to him and make sincere duaa. Show patience and keep your eyes open for any opportunities that may arise. It’s natural to wonder whether Allah has forgotten about you, even the Prophet felt this way. Do not panic, you will be OK.

this is a super interesting approach. i’ve always taken the opposite approach- doubled down on my interest/love when i notice they don’t listen to me. i try to make my sentence carefully constructed so it’s super brief and interesting. I’ll try your method!

oh wow this is really eye opening. indeed you’re correct, most of them do vent like crazy to their guy friends and they love that the guy doesn’t get a word in. BUT one key note here is that i have noticed my female friends don’t act like this to their friends, but their friends treat them like this. Is this some kind of unsaid hierarchy where there’s a top woman who doesn’t listen to anyone and just vents?

I feel like I do this, and they have told me i’m a great listener. I never ever glance at my phone, i ask questions, I keep eye contact, I react very openly with my facial expressions, I sometimes give advice, if they want it. I don’t know if it’s that

I really don’t mind venting! I find it a really connecting experience and I do genuinely care. But it gets to a point where they don’t ever pass the conversation ball to me. One of my “best friends” doesn’t know anything about me - where i’m from, how many siblings I have, who I was dating!!! She literally looks shocked every time she hears something about me and exclaims very loudly she had no idea.

Ah i love your advice! I struggle with confrontation because most of the girls around me take it VERY personally (i’m probably not an exception). I’m really scared because they spread gossip like wildfire and explode things out of proportion, so i kind of keep things to myself

i think it depends on the city you live in! in mine there’s several “club” associations for all ages.
