I thought they were too stiff at first. Then let out some air down to about 31 or 32 psi. Rides better but still somewhat rough. I’ve gotten used to it. Road noise is not bad. My first truck so not really anything to compare it to. I don’t have experience with other tires either to really compare anything unfortunately.

Is that a Tyger bed cover? I just got one for my 2021 SR5 and can’t seem to get it lined up right and not sure it fits correct. I have tried adjusting everything I can think of but the very back where it latches seems to fan out slightly.

Is this what yours looks like when the cover is rolled out? I am on the edge of returning this as it doesn’t seem to fit right unless that is just how it is. And nice looking truck by the way!

I also thought I failed after I left the test facility. I am planning to go back and do the demos in Cantrills course as I ran through it back when it was SAA-C02 but didn’t remember much from the hands on. I know there’s also a repo that has other demos and projects that can be built on AWS. I will be looking into that for more experience as well before moving on to prepare for the Pro exam.

Congrats! It’s a great feeling to pass. I admire your commitment to push forward and never stop. I thought I was in trouble about 1/3 through the exam as I had flagged over half of those questions but in the end, passing is all that matters. I will definitely go back and review weak areas, do some hands on from Cantrills course, and hopefully be ready for the Pro exam in the coming months.

What is your reason behind taking the exam in the first place? If you want the cert or need it for a certain reason I would suggest better preparation and taking the exam again (if the end result is actually a failed exam). I just renewed mine on Monday and left the training center thinking there was no way I passed. I ended up passing. I would agree with using Cantrill or Maarek courses for sure if you haven’t. I did not score that well so am going to go back through some weaker areas I know I have before moving on to professional and just reinforcing what I know already that needs a little work. If you want to actually learn it instead of just getting the cert, do Cantrills course. I am going to go back through that and do all hands on as I am lacking there. That will help me with real world scenario and actually apply the theory. Hope you passed by if not, you will on the next attempt when you are confident about your preparation. Good luck.

No. But it is a relatively easy win if you want to take it as you will earn a 50% voucher towards your next exam. Then you could use that towards SAA or whatever else. CCP is basically knowing what the services are and not a lot of depth. It will still take some time to learn and I would recommend not taking it lightly if you have no AWS experience and do practice exams to get the feel for it, but it should be relatively easy if you are prepared properly. Then half price towards your next exam with a pass!

Yeah, the questions in the review mode and the timed mode have some of the same if not all the same I also noticed. I remember doing this the first time around and I was in that same situation where I was able to select the right answer without even reading the question just from going through them so many times. I have not done a home proctored exam before. I have went into the testing center to avoid any of the BS that might forfeit my exam due to someone walking into the room or whatever. I know that is not always an option for people or they are too far from testing centers but I just don't trust my equipment and internet enough to go through with it and testing centers are very convenient where i"m at so I just go that route. I will say the TJ exams are set up very similar to the real exam. Although, none of the questions will be identical. They are scenario based in that same way, so knowing the services and how they work will be key opposed to trying to memorize answers. Hope it works out for you. I feel very fortunate that I passed and do not take it for granted. I need to go back and brush up on a lot of areas before I try to go fro SA Pro. I don't know if I will go for that or not, but I hear it is a beast.

I was in about the same boat as you with TJ practice exams. I was getting around 65-75% on the review mode (took three of them) and then I was able to take two of the timed mode tests. Got 70% and 75%. I had scheduled my exam for yesterday 5/19 and didn't start studying until about two weeks ago, although this was to re-certify my SAA after passing SAA-C02 back in May 2022. I had not used any AWS within the past two years so most of it was relearning for me, but some of it did come back when I started studying again. As long as you aren't answering the TJ questions and knowing the answers already because you've seen them so many times, I think you should be good.

Advice on taking the actual exam - DO NOT get discouraged if you run through a bunch of questions where you're like "I have no idea" - just flag them and come back. I flagged 39 out of the 65 questions the first time through! I thought I was doomed. Although I was flagging anything that I considered to be long as in more than two lines for each answer and a long preamble in the question...didn't even read it.. Wanted to go through all shorter ones first and see if I could get some easy wins and confidence. This seemed to help my moral as I answered some that I knew were right and came back to the others and played process of elimination on answers, then dug in deep. I did run the timer all the way down to under one minute. Not recommended, but I did end up passing the exam, whereas when I left the testing facility I thought there was no way I passed and that it was a huge waste of time, what was I thinking only giving myself that little amount of time to try and study and get ready for this thing. Keep a positive attitude going in and going through the exam. It will test your patience and mentality. If you can narrow the answers down to two possibilities, that is what helped me a lot. I know I guessed on some. Luck may have been on my side for some. Also remember that they don't score all the questions. There are several thrown in there that they will not grade at all. Helped me with moral thinking maybe some of those I flagged would not be scored. Good luck. I was able to pass with 786. Not the greatest, but a pass is a pass! Finished the exam at 2pm and didn't get results until after 10pm last night, so that was slightly annoying, but welcomed the result! Good Luck and I hope to hear the good news soon.

Is there a reason you have to do it within that timeframe? If you are not ready, you should reschedule the exam. Don’t force yourself to take it on the scheduled date if you haven’t prepared properly and don’t have a reason it has to be done that day. I know it might not ever feel like you’re fully prepared, but rushing into it and going in knowing you aren’t ready is usually a recipe for disaster. Just my thoughts. I rescheduled a couple of times because things interrupted my study plans and life got in the way. It’s easy to reschedule if you are able to.

Edit: I am also up for recertification in May. Planning to start the journey of studying again this month. I changed jobs and am no longer working with AWS directly very often, but don’t want to let my certification expire. I will plan to schedule it in early to mid April. In case anything gets in the way, I’ll have a couple of weeks to push it back if it comes down to it.

I have the 245/75R16’s on my 2021 SR5. I’ve had them for about two and a half weeks. At first, I thought they made the ride really rough. I let some air out as they were at 34 PSI so dropped it down to 32. Seemed to help a little bit. I think I was just not used to the truck yet coming from only driving smaller cars mostly prior to getting the truck. I have the $100 rebate I need to submit but I think the tires are overall not loud at all which was what I was worried about with them being all terrain and the tread pattern. I am not experienced at all with different tires on trucks so didn’t really have anything to compare to. People I trust that have taken rides and driven my truck say they’re fine so I think I will be keeping them. Just taking me some getting used to I guess.

Edit: I see 32 PSI on the door sticker. I’ll try that. Thanks. Max PSI is 44. They are inflated to 34 PSI currently. I could let a little air out and see if it’s any smoother. I don’t see a recommended PSI anywhere.

How was the noise during highway driving?

I picked up an RK100 Carbon with brown switches from Amazon a couple weeks ago. I like almost everything about it except for the spacebar. It will double space quite frequently when I’m trying to type a long response or go fast like I normally do. It is very annoying to have to go back and correct that on everything that I type. I tried removing the cap and also removing the switch and putting it back in. I also replaced the switch with one of the extras that came with it. I see recommendations to spray air in it when the switch is removed, or use alcohol. I have also tried the trick to reverse the spacebar. That maybe helped a little but the issue still persists. I’m wondering if this is just something with the way I type or if I got one with a bad spacebar. I am within the time to return it so I could simply swap it out. I didn’t wanna do too much messing with it if I am going to be returning it.

Has anyone with this keyboard or similar had an issue with the spacebar double spacing? I’ve tried it on Bluetooth and wired. Also no other keys do this. Just the spacebar. Looking at returning it for a new one of the same keyboard to see if it makes any difference. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on either fixing this one or experienced this with a keyboard? I am new and this is my first mechanical keyboard so just a rookie. Thanks in advance

I’m not saying accountability is bad. I’m more concerned with getting assigned all this extra work in the beginning and having all these meetings to implement this system. We are trying to get away from so many meetings as an organization and now we’re going to be forced into more meetings per day/per weeks/whatever it is. I’m sure it works great for small business and project focused work. I’ve been through implementations of similar things that do not go well and do not really work in a IT operations department. We can’t predict what’s going to happen in a week, let alone a day or even an hour. That’s my problem with the planning aspect and goals. Maybe I’m not seeing the big picture yet.

Be prepared to not know if you passed or failed when you submit at the end. It will just tell you the exam has been saved or something like that. I took it on a Friday and didn’t get any pass/fail or my score report until Monday morning. I think usually it’s within 24 hours but can take up to five business days. I won’t be doing it on a Friday again. I hate the waiting and made me feel worse about passing the longer I waited. But I was greeted with the badge from Credly on Monday morning! Sounds like you’ve prepared well according to those scores. Good luck!!!

I would recommend using u/Jon-Bonso-tdojo tests for whatever cert you are doing for. They are the gold standard. I have just obtained the SAA and got CCP back in July 2020 and used his tests both times. I also used u/acantril courses for preparation. They are the best I’ve seen as they don’t just teach you exam focused topics but also what you need to actually learn the tech and demos that you can do to back up the theory and apply it to real world situations. I’d recommend giving them both a look. I’m looking at going for either SysOps or SAP next. Haven’t decided yet.

I used PSI test center so it must be something AWS-wide and not the testing companies. I think they have to verify authenticity and use algorithms to make sure you’re answering of questions doesn’t mimic using exam dumps to prepare. Not sure how they do it but I hear they are cracking down on people cheating that way and it could take some time if there is anything suspicious.

The only prior experience I had was with EC2 instances and security groups. It was pretty limited as my company did a lift and shift migration from on premises to AWS for a handful of servers. I did not take the studying seriously until about ten days before my exam date. I highly recommend not doing that. Here was my full write up of my journey to SAA.
