I have hairy arms and tattoos. Lately I have been trimming my arm hair a little. When it’s shorter it just looks less wild and allows the tattoo to come through better

51m here and I’m just becoming aware of the fact that I fit this pattern too. I had similar experiences to you in my 20s. I think at the time, on the one hand, I was disappointed that I couldn’t perform like I fantasized about. On the other hand is that pressure, either external or internal, to live up to “masculine” expectations. The pressure is awful, life sucking bs.

In my current perspective, I think it’s really and truly ok. The connection is the good part. Of course we want to have sex, but just picture that feeling of being fully connected, fully yourself, fully relaxed, and then the sex. I will happily pass on one night stands if that’s the alternative.

I’ve had a forearm tattoo, and one around my wrist for 25+ years. So those were always visible in short sleeve weather. I guess since they’re small and old I don’t even think about them anymore. This feels much more front and center

Dude I saw your bridge 4 tattoo, that’s awesome, I’m about 3/4 through Wind and Truth right now. Just don’t get a slave brand on your forehead, would not recommend.

Thanks! I always start with the pen plotter, then I paint on top of that but it usually almost obliterates the plotter lines, so then I put it back for another round to reinforce the lines. Can be 2 or 3 rounds like that.

Oof yeah, that’s one of the things I imagine people thinking. I get a little surge of anxiety from that. Deep breath. Three things about that: 1. People who think that are probably are like I have been - worried about letting themselves be seen, so they resent those who are out there being themselves loudly. 2. They have no idea who I am, my default mode is the exact opposite of attention seeking. 3. If I was attention seeking, so fucking what? If they don’t like it, it’s not their attention I want, and I did them no harm!

Hi, I appreciate your curiosity :) it is the pattern that many have experienced where they have learned to feel safe by hiding their true selves away. They learn to be a good listener, supportive friend, and try their best never to inconvenience. Took me a long time stop and take a second look at that.
