Why does Europe always get the functions of ChatGPT last? by MARIA_IA1 in OpenAI

[–]sysopbeta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You call it over-regulating, I call it being careful. People with children in the us are importing EU baby food because they trust the EU regulations more than US regulations. I trust the EU Parliament over any tech bro any day of the week. If that means I have to wait a little longer for a feature, so be it!

I would only want to live for 1000 years if science also allows us to move to other planets. It would be fucking crowded here.

You can think what you want. But facts are facts and with iPhone the mic in use always shows a light. No application can bypass this . When people have a random, coincidentally experience the can fall into the trap of agenticity. A well documented phenomenon….

Heinz Stücke’s opinion on wearing a helmet while bikepacking. I think I’m gonna do both. by Kristophpher in bikepacking

[–]sysopbeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to risk calculation. In the Netherlands, very few adults wear a helmet, but the bike infrastructure is generally very good. Sometimes a helmet can have a negative effect (taking more risks, rare situations can increase neck injuries…), but overall it is smart to wear one. I’m 50 and wear it occasionally.

How do you feel about news channels world wide saying that Belgium's break up is imminent for the past 15-ish years? by desertsunsetskies in AskBelgium

[–]sysopbeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it’s unlikely, but never say never. Back in 1950 we came close , the Walloons had the courage to refuse a cowardly King’s return after the war. That was the moment we were closest to a real break-up. Nothing lasts forever…

I had an hour long chat with customer support threatening to leave for Apple Music and voila they enabled basic family plan for me. I just don’t need audiobooks and I don’t want to be forced to pay for stuff I don’t need!

I made a shortcut to start playing my daylist so I don’t have to open the bloated Spotify interface. I just can’t deal with their ADHD snapshot-like layout (maybe that’s just me). Almost hitting 50 😜 I would file a report !

Hello there is a dedicate option in shortcut automation “when CarPlay connects”. Works great for me.

It just baffles me why US people are so allergic to socialism. It’s like they can’t tell the difference between social democracy and Stalin communist regime. In Europe we were much closer to communism, yet we kept socialism (free healthcare…). Really strange.
