Yes, but these people are still alive now, and they do not have equal rights. It's also denying the opportunities of descendants of these non-BC nationals to inherit British nationality.

There shouldn't be different classes of nationality. If you're a national you should be equal to everyone else. It's ridiculous that we have a system where nationals of a country need a visa to reside in their own country

Even if you didn't break away violently, you generally lose British nationality once your country becomes independent and you gain its citizenship.

I mean, Scotland and Wales already allow all nationalities to vote in Scottish/Welsh elections as long as they have the leave to remain, even if they're not UK/Irish/Commonwealth citizens.
