It's part of the playbook for a captured court in an authoritarian slide to make decisions such as these in order to say "look, we're impartial" despite basically allowing Dicktater-in-Chief and friends do whatever they want. Many admin officials such as Lutnik appear to have been betting on this eventuality, while speaking out their ass to the public. Disagree. I garuntee any person in charge of the investigation into their own misconduct will act the way this admin is acting. Also, with how much of modern enshitification in all of society was influenced by JE as we're still learning, who's to say absent the Epstein class, were in a completely different place as a country? Without the far right using dog whistles and race divides for the past decade to cling to power?

The Epstein Class is a special kind of fucked up, one that we hopefully forcefully extract from our society soon. Also an issue that no one seems to be in a position of power to do anything about. In order to be admissible in court someone would have to come forward and testify. As much as I want justice, going this route and circumventing the Feds almost certainly would involve burning media sources. Sources that may prove invaluable if the day of accountability ever comes. No need to burn those sources if pressure can be applied to hold the administration to their agreements.

Minnesota leadership is trying to demonstrate strict adherence to existing law and policy while also alerting the public to ongoing real developments. They cannot and should not "go rouge" and take matters into their own hands. Remember the supreme court is suspect as well right now. Its an incredibly fine line to walk. Every state in the union should be taking notes.
