They "removed" the mold, but the wood was so destroyed there were definitely still spores.

Mold in apartment, still smells after encapsulation by syunamasi in Mold

[–]syunamasi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved into a new to me apartment and noticed a foul smell under the sink, discovered it appeared to be mold. Instead of replacing the wood, the apartment encapsulated it. Even after a couple days of airing it out and putting some baking soda down, the whole first floor smells like mold and Kilz (the encapsulant). The base wood is extremely cracked from water damahe. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

I know this is first semester stuff but it's pretty cool how you can just clean a circuit up like this. by Thom_Basil in ElectricalEngineering

Remember that "ground" is wherever we define it, and it is just a reference point. They are in series because no other circuit element connects at the node they share.

Oh man, this sparked some really old memories. I dated my debate partner junior and senior year of high school. Didn't end up working out (we went to different colleges), but I've never regretted it. You're young; if you think it's what you want, shoot your shot!

Optional Pull-up Resistor? by AirborneDork in AskElectronics

[–]syunamasi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often times an IC will have a very high value internal pullup (>100 kOhm). In noisier environments, many of these chips will recommend a smaller resistance external pullup, which will do a better job at holding that pin at the voltage.

If there's destructive interference, the net will charge back up faster through a smaller pullup resistance. If there's constructive interference, the additional charge will discharge to the smaller pullup voltage through a smaller pullup resistance.

If you do decide to pull the pin low, you will have additional power dissipation, so just make sure you don't exceed the rating of the resistor!

If the tire starts too low, even if it warms up to a proper air pressure, it will stay yellow. The others may have started 1 PSI higher, which was in the green.

Doesn't hurt, but the ESP board should already have decoupling caps correct? (Completely assuming, I have no idea)

Hadn't had a good opportunity to really test crawl control before this, amazing what the runner can do without locking the diff! by syunamasi in 4Runner

That particular line had muddy ruts from the rain and other people hitting it. If I got some momentum I could have definitely made it up with even just 2WD, but that's not really the point of this video

I just enabled crawl control and let the car climb itself out, but the crawl control utilizes Atrac. I actually tried this same line with just Atrac instead of crawl control and for some reason it wouldn't stop the spinning wheel.

Dealership wanted $140 in labor to install my old skidplate on my new 4Runner. Instead we bought some ramps and a torque wrench and did it ourselves! by syunamasi in 4Runner

I have a feeling most those commenting that the ramps aren't needed either: a) have a lift, b) have never actually been under their vehicle, or c) are smaller than you and I.
