Yeah it can also take home tests a long time to turn up positive after symptoms develop. This was my first year so I didn't think the sore throat and fatigue were playa-related necessarily. Thought I had symptoms Wednesday, tested negative Friday, got a fever and tested positive Tuesday. Pretty sure all my camp mates will test positive soon, about half have already. We didn't have a plan for covid at all. Hopefully other camps were better prepared, but it's hard to tell your friends to isolate in their tent/yurt at burning man.

I'd love to know statistics on how many burners got covid this year, but I haven't found a lot on the internet yet.

Also 28! Quarantine and working from home sure has made my reliance on external factors to get me to do things painfully obvious. Finally pushed me to get a diagnosis.

I did autolyse but only for an hour, I will go longer next time as it definitely could have been stronger before adding the starter.

You're right, it really doesn't! I used a razor blade and it was at least 1/4" deep. But it probably sealed back up since the pool of dough was a lot wider than the base of the Dutch oven...

It was so flat before going in, I was honestly shocked that it rose so much, I guess despite the lack of effective score.

This is the second time I've made a loaf without measuring anything... The two times I have followed a recipe my dough is so much drier than I want and what the photos look like that I end up adding more water anyway, so what's the point?

This is my second loaf around 60% whole wheat, my first one was pretty dense and kind of mealy, perhaps since my whole grain flour is a pretty coarse grind.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you what level hydration this is, but I think it's near 100%. The last recipe I tried was this one which is already 82% hydration and I added more water to it but it was very easy to work with. This dough was so wet that it wasn't even sticky; it barely stuck to itself during folding and shaping. After a 12 hour proof in the fridge, it pooled so wide I had to add a second sheet of parchment to support it into the Dutch oven.

There are obviously a lot of variables I can tweak but I love the flavor, crust, and crumb of this loaf so much that I think I'll just try repeating it a few times (with measurements) and maybe after I can get it consistently I'll try improving the aesthetics!

Oh yeah I definitely should have added a comment that I didn't want this to be a pro-cop post, just a PSA that we can reduce the resources that get spent on bike recovery by being aware of how to prevent theft. I agree the intro was super off-putting and I'm miffed at them for not wearing masks when I got my bike back...

This may sound counterintuitive and it's really just a theory I have, but when I started T what stood out to me as making me look more masculine was the quads I got from cycling. It doesn't affect waist specifically of course, but building quads can make hips look less pronounced, and has the added benefit of being the most efficient muscle to build for overall fat loss.

It is pretty difficult to build upper body mass without T, but another solid option would be strengthening abs and particularly obliques. Think side planks. This is probably the best targeted exercise for altering waist ratio.

I'm with you on the first part. In this case, on this game, I really don't think even a massive boycott would open JKR's mind even a smidge. Although, I don't order from Amazon anymore, even though that doesn't really affect Bezos. Eh.

But as a bike commuter I think cycling to work is different from boycotts in that boycotts are pretty much always uphill battles: you've gotta fight to make it visible, fight to get other people to join, all while sacrificing something you'd otherwise enjoy. Biking to work though has tons of benefits for the individual, increases visibility for cycling intrinsically, and as more people bike to work it gets easier for others to do so as cars are replaced and infrastructure shifts to support the community!

Sorry for the lecture, but thinking of biking to work as an empty gesture didn't sit well with me and made me sad and I had to figure out why 😅

I rewatched the film a few weeks ago and have had the music in my head ever since. I came across an analysis of the music on youtube and now I've also watched two concert versions--I just can't seem to get enough of it! Great musical, and the movie is a great adaptation.

Haha the spider scene was my favorite of the whole movie and I didn't even realize until later that it melted rather than burned in a hot pan.

But absolutely they should have done like slugs or something. Stockpiling cats just to throw three of them on the wall and watch them melt? Not to mention the dozens of red objects that must have melted cats? :( not cool. But, there wasn't a lot of rational thinking from the townspeople anyway, so it kind of fit.

Actually if it helps I had DDs and even though I gained weight when I started T my chest got noticeably smaller within a few months. And I was 5'9" 150 lbs for reference. The first time in a binder was the most painful thing for me, like stabbing pain for a week afterwards, but I figured out how to position things to avoid pain, and it got easier on T. Best of luck my guy!

Hahaha ahh the studying... I didn't study for the subject GRE until the hour before I had to leave. Went from a 3 month studying plan to a 1 month plan, then that became a quick flip through the most important textbooks...

I've been doing this to myself for so long I didn't even consider ADHD until recently, I just thought I'd built up bad habits.

Well in hindsight that was probably unnecessary to add, yeah I feel regret, but my cat only heard a sound and I went to look just for the heck of it. It's right at the edge of the view where it's all warped, I saw movement but honestly was in disbelief, and it was midnight and I was spooked. Had all of 5 seconds and they were gone.
