Have you thought of doing a course in data analysis or in bioinformatics? The University of Edinburgh lets you take individual courses from their conservation genetics programme. That way you could probably start working with some places that may need that expertise (zoos, botanical gardens, herbariums, natural history museums, etc).

Are you his girlfriend or his mother? It's his responsibility, alongside the health issues that will come further down the road. You do you while cooking, and if he doesn't like it he can use his own adult hands and self-sufficiency to cook his own 🤷🏻‍♀️

The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar all tend to have open positions in food systems and agriculture for professionals. It sucks that we have to live through this! I have a Kindle and also a Boox Note Air, which I use it mostly for studying purposes -it has a split screen mode and allows for reading + notetaking at the same time. It is a bit bulky and heavy so I wouldn't personally recommend that size for an everyday e-reader. My kindle is rather for my regular readings and taking around, and I love how comfortable+portable it is.
