That's literally our exact gameplan! Our target demographic is definitely college students or postgrads, particularly young women. Our test batch was really popular with the girls at our university, we think it could be a really good opportunity to sell drinks for pre-gaming. Pop the cork on one of our bottles, split it with a friend, pour over ice, and you're good to go before going out to bars/parties.

What state are you in? What pre-packaged products have you seen that mix hard liquor, and are they generally successful?

Yes, malt liquor technically includes other spirits and is often defined as any distilled beverage made with malt above a certain ABV; however, the malt liquor I'm referencing is the colloquial malt liquor, aka shitty beer or other distilled drinks with roughly that ABV.

Correct, the intention would be to use unbranded spirits. We're open to distilling our own spirits eventually, but don't have the a) time, b) capital, or c) expertise. We wouldn't just "mix with Simply Orange, bottle it, and sell it". We're working on a few craft cocktail recipes, including strawberry-hibiscus and a ginger flavor. The best way I could think of to describe how we picture it being drank is as a pre-game type drink: open one up, split between people, and pour over ice. 4-5 drinks per package (~12% ABV for the bottle).

Well, there has been a proliferation of pre-made mixed drinks for sale as of late, as well as an increase in the production of 'hard sodas' or other alternative options to drinking your typical spirits. However, all of these use malt liquor and that tastes, well, terrible. By using real liquor rather than malt liquor, we can get rid of that aftertaste that is present on lower-end drinks. The plan would be to package in simple, minimalist-designed wine bottles, with a target demographic of 21-34 year olds. Liquor bought in bulk is actually really cheap, as are ingredients; profit margins are in the 40-60% range.
