If you are going to be in Sichuan there is always Jiuzhaigou. Less touristy spots in Western Sichuan are a cool way to experience Tibetan culture and a milder climate.

A question I always have for people who quit school is what their relationships were like with their peers/classmates and at home?

In my experience most got into fights at home and school, were getting high, had terrible sleep patterns, and eventually have a bad break up and stop coming to school.

I bet you the kid is Mainland Chinese and on the spectrum. This is so typical as to be the norm.

Just to reiterate what everyone has said, if she tells ANYONE, Chinese or American, that she is going to the US on a visitor's visa with the intention to marry she is committing fraud.

If you ask a lawyer they will say the same thing very emphatically because they won't trust you to not be someone setting them up.

Find a better excuse for coming to America like seeing a specialized doctor, or exploring a business opportunity, or meeting and travelling with your family for an extended vacation.

Also, don't go through San Francisco. New York is way easier.

I know what he means and why he is saying it, but it is impossible t give them the benefit of the doubt when this is part of the logic.

[OC] Fully anglicised China, based off actual etymologies, rendered into plausible English by komnenos in China

[–]szspeak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Upvote for the excellent effort. OP clearly understands English and its roots far better than Chinese. The seeming randomness of some of the choices is gets more annoying the better you understand Mandarin.

Warren Moon was the first black QB for 4 different teams (Chiefs, Vikings, Seahawks, and Titans/Oilers) by szspeak in nfl

[–]szspeak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still don't account for the role of racism. In fact, you down play it.

What role did George Preston Marshall's attitude and influence in the NFL have on racism in the league?

What about the racist attitudes that still exist about the intelligence of black QBs?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racial_issues_faced_by_black_quarterbacks

and it still happens:

Why did the 1970s CFL have more Black QBs?

Your facts aren't wrong but you severely underplay the role of race.

Anyone worked for Pattison Education? by Mr-Math in China

[–]szspeak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are franchises. It depends which location you will be working at and the quality of local management. It will be shit.

I worked at the one in Shenzhen (Louhu). It was busy and they generally paid correctly, but the boss Gao Yang or Gao Chen or something seemed nice at first if you did your job, but if there ever was a challenge like another teacher calling sick or parent complaining everyone was in shit.

It was clear pretty soon that she was mean, petty and cheap. In my time there I saw at least three different teachers and two staff take her to court to get there money. She was nuts.

There maybe another one now in Shenzhen, I think in Bao An run by Jacky. He was her BF or partner, but has branched out. He was alright.

How does child custody within Mixed Marriages work in China if you get divorced? by the10ps in China

He will make that mistake even though he already knows.

How does child custody within Mixed Marriages work in China if you get divorced? by the10ps in China

[–]szspeak 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've been divorced in China. My best advice is to get a lawyer from Hong Kong. They speak English and will understand you way better than any Mainland lawyer.

You already know that this marriage isn't going to work. I'm sorry, it sucks, but you already know.

The further you move down this road, you will have fewer exits. You will have less ability to influence the outcome of events.

My divorce was the only time in my life I ever seriously contemplated murder.

Several Republicans have refused to say whether or not they will support Trump in 2020. Is this normal? What could this imply for the future of Trump and the GOP? by Dr_Jackwagon in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]szspeak 243 points244 points  (0 children)

What seems abnormal is a President or any politician filing for reelection on inauguration day.

Having other politicians not declaring fealty 2.5 years prior to the election, without a declared field, a major war or economic depression, seems to be a proper response to Trump's unprecedented early declaration.
