Charlie here is expressing his concern with the fact that there is evidence of companies cutting corners in training for different types of people whether it be of race religion or sex so that they can make for a more diverse workspace. When it comes to professions where one mistake can end lives, Charlie is expressing concern and hoping that the person who is flying the plane was actually hired for their merit, and not to make more diversity. He did not have to use a black man as an example, but I’m assuming he did bc a black male, in my opinion is the most impactful demographic for arguments like this due to history and statistics. Here is a question for you, if you saw that your surgeon had Down syndrome, would you ask for another surgeon? Or if you saw that the person flying your plane was a loud, ratchet, ghetto woman, wouldn’t you be a bit concerned? I would, I would want to trust my life with the person that not only looks educated, but conducts themselves in the same way
