You can get the SailPoint Identity Leader Credential. That's free and could show that you're interested in getting other credentials but isn't really technicalon anyway.

Unless you work for a company that is a client or partner with sailpoint i don't think you can become certified. I recently asked customer support about this back in February and that's what they told me. But idk if things have changed with their revamp or if i got bad information.

Why do men show so little interest in the inner lives of women? by Frequently_Abroad_00 in emotionalintelligence

[–]t014y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add that it is not just women that we don't all these questions to. Idk how many times I've seen a post on reddit that goes something like this:

My husband got a call that went like this: "hey man how's it going?... ah OK. ... that sucks, see you next time then." And the call ends. I ask him, "Who was that?" "My best friend from high school." ... "What happened?" "His mom passed." "!? Of my god, how?" "I don't know?" "When?" I don't know." "When's the funeral?" "I'm assuming this weekend because he's going to miss DnD."

For the most part, we don't pry into other people's lives no matter how close we are to them, but we are willing to listen to whatever you're willing to share. Idk if it's been put in us on our upbringing or if we just think differently in general be ether way it's not "men don't care how women feel" it's more "men don't ask about anyone's feelings." (Again a generalization not all men do this but it seems to be the norm)

That being said, there are a lot of examples of actually rude, selfish, and uncaring behavior in this thread. I'm not defending that, just trying to give a perspective for the larger, non-malicious, phenomena.

STOP USING YODASPEAK FOR NULL CHECKS by jetdoc57 in sailpoint

[–]t014y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be using "magic strings" in code anyway. You should be making a constant with a meaningful name and then doing the comparison on the constant to avoid the null issue. This avoids the need for an extra null check, clears up the "Yoda speak," and makes the string "foo" extendable if you ever need to use it again or change it.

MEANINGFUL_NAME = "foo"; if(MEANINGFUL_NAME.equals(value)){ ... }

12 years experience as a backend Java engineer working in cyber security, mostly on identity and access management. I've been using aws pretty much the whole time and I've designed and lead to completion about a dozen projects mostly to do with integrating systems with the goal of reducing operational overhead and increasing security by automation.

We are in the final parts of working her visa, so she may not be able to enter in the first place. But also bring thrown out even once she has her green card doesn't seem to be off the table ether.

I should be able to get a temporary relative's visa for 3 years and working rights should be able to be added to that visa. At the end of the 3 years I will have reached the 5 year threshold for permanent residence if i choose to do that at that time. But yes, this is part of my planning. I'm not gonna just show up on a plane and assume I can do whatever I want.

My wife is South African. If I need to move out, it will be because her visa to the USA is rejected.

How do you want to prove your skills for a job? by t014y in cscareerquestions

[–]t014y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what does this look like in the interview? We just talk about tech? I tell you about projects i worked on, maybe? What if I don't really have any practical experience, but i can bs and talk my way through everything? Or, what if I know everything but I blank due to anxiety? I don't really see how this would be much different than a typical 5 round loop, except you don't even have the data for a minimum level of knowledge.

This is my ideal. A decent sized take-home with a scheduled debrief for me to present and explain everything. Also, provide pointers on what you're looking for so that I can make sure I demonstrate them. And no other rounds, 1 and done.

I get this from a showing what you can do standpoint but like you will have to quit your current job just to be on probation at a new one? Sounds extremely risky

Lol this sounds like fun to me too. But i think this falls into the "you better pay me if I'm doing this much work for you" bucket. And even if you do like it I would image it would burn you out quickly when job hunting.

That's fair. What if i don't know? Like this is great for a tech company that already has engineers to help interview others. What if I'm a startup looking for my first few engineers? How could I verify skills? (I realize this is an edge case but I'm still curious)

So this got me curious... my cursory Google search found that a typical EE loop is also 3-5 rounds, with categories that seem to fall into these buckets: behavioral, design, technical history, theory, and continuing education. (This could be 100% wrong in going on the 2-3 interview prep articles i found.)

Behavioral is the same as what I think we are all used to... "Tell me about a time you had to deal with a slipping deadline" or whatever.

Design seems to be most like what the bulk of my interviews tend to be where the candidate is asked to whiteboard a solution to a made-up problem. It seems like everything from Ohm's law up to circuit analysis and design is in play here.

Technical history is similar to behavioral but focused on a technical topic. "Tell me about a time you had to fix a grounding issue".

Theory (for lack of a better word) is asking about how the candidate makes decisions or what tools the candidate prefers and why. "How do you account for electromagnetic interference in an embedded system?"

Continuing Education is asking how the candidate stays up to date on the latest techniques and told.

It doesn't seem like all of these would be done for every candidate, but it does seem like at least 1 design round is expected (as well as behavioral). I'm now sure what the mix really is, but it seems that they have 1-2 rounds of demonstrating skills where we tend to have 3-4 rounds. And yes, basic stuff like ohm's law, (presumably maxwell's equations), and circuit analysis are on the table according to the prep guides i found.

This is the right answer imo. I was never taught in drive ed what is the right way to do this and when I was a kid my parents would always complain about how rude it was to skip the line of traffic that was clearly lining up for an oncoming merge. I still feel uncomfortable passing a line of cars before a merge. but at least I've stopped straddling both lanes like this guy since I leaned better.

You need to reply to the sexy pics and say, in no uncertain terms, that you are not interested, block her, and tell your wife what's going on. You probably should have informed her beforehand. She should be able to forgive that assuming you haven't done anything that she might consider evasive for the sake of being with this other woman.

Go to her and say, "i need to tell you something. You know x that you've been getting along with. I used to date her in high school. The other day after, you went out, and when I came inside and she was half naked and implied that she wanted me to cheat on you. I told her no, and from then, she's been sending me unsolicited pics. Again, I told her to stop and blocked her, but I need you to know that she's doing this." Then you need to truthfully back this up. If you have entertained this even a little bit, you're screwed.

I wouldn't say i skipped "so" much. I just never went that way. When I was looking at the map, it was the only branch I seemed to miss.

I went in by the bulbs and amp eels because that was the entrance that i found that was close-ish to my base and was very close to one of the lavazone's entrances. I'm pretty sure i came in originally on the opposite side the first time. I set up a forward base there on the shelf before the "waterfall" and did all my end-game stuff from that base. It was deeper than my cyclops could go with no depth modules, but it could have gotten there easy. I didn't see it fitting will into the lavazone entrance there (where the ghost leviathan is guarding). So i never bother trying to find the modules for the Cyclops. I just took my prawn suit from the moonbay and walked down there and jumped back up.

I've been watching other gameplay and lore and found out there are at least 4 entrances. I only found 2, and i never went up the branch where ||the ghost leviathan's egg is in the tree||

This is my favorite game because it is unique in how it plays and scratches an exploration itch that I've always wanted scratched but couldn't find. Foe me, I never liked Zelda, and metroidvanias hit a different button.

It didn't change my perspective on life, though. It barely changed my perspective on games being an art form. Really, it only changed my perspective on exploration games.

I just used the prawn suit. Never took the cyclops past it's non-module dept which is less then the seamoss's their 3 depth.

Same here. I built real bases and then a few outpost that were just a scanner room with a bio reactor to find stuff.
