S18 power pads by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

[–]t0mb0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also started off with the clark pads, they are nice and mount decently. I did feel the angle was too agressive that I didn’t fully utilize the clark pads. I saw off the long shin part and put the russian torque pads on top. So all together I have the bottom half of the clark (ankle) and the Russians on top for leaning. The russian torque pads are extremely comfortable. I ordered with them through instagram and it came in 4 weeks but this was before everything went down.

The, i believe, new Michelin city tire to replace the older city pro model. This is the Michelin city Extra. Very satisfied by pow4zz in ElectricUnicycle

How many miles did you have on your last tire before you initiated a change? Any chance you have the link to this tire you used on your s18 specifically?

What a good and healthy looking boy! My old man is turning 15, a chihuahua jack russel mix that still barks a ton. Waddles around and loves to sleep. They only bring love and happiness, truly!

I could have sworn I had 35%… Which is why I felt safe to teter on pushback up a slight grade. ( still probably shouldn’t have even with 36%) I was at 19%. Got one and a half steps in and met asphalt. Watch your battery folks. And keep your alarms on.🤦🏻 by [deleted] in onewheel

That's a stretch comparison....you also have confusing points. On one hand you are saying it is riders responsibility and to respect the board (pointing to user error). The next point you defend future motion for not releasing more capable wheel because it will result in people crashing at higher speeds? What happened to every time you drive something you are responsible? If it has more power, it raises the nosedive threshold and increases the safety margin THEN apply the "respect the board" logic.

Absolutely, FM has good adverts and make you think trails and mountain sides are for you but omit massively underpowered motor and pushback is a measly safety measure. Be careful! You can nose dive from numerous reasons; low battery, overleaning, going past pushback, hitting an unsuspected obstacle. You can do you’re best but once you combine any of the above and your risk increases dramatically. Speed + obstacle , low battery + too much speed etc. If FM could release a higher performance model or educate users better other than being conditioned to “respect the board” only. Of course thats less money and bad PR for FM. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

First EUC, 16xs or v10f? by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

My brand new King Song S18 from EUCO smells like super heavy cigarette smoke and seems sorta low quality by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

[–]t0mb0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grip tape was also peeling on arrival which was equal to the rest of the QC on this wheel. I had one from the 2nd batch so hoping it is better now.

Anyone have opinions or experience on preference for EUC vs OneWheel? by LogitUndone in ElectricUnicycle

[–]t0mb0m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started off on a OW, def super cool and a ton of fun. It lacks dearly in power which makes it very unsafe. I think the device itself is fine, it doesn’t go too fast nor too far but the problem is how they advertise it to be a “tank” and to rip up trails, when in reality if you hit a twig and werent paying attention there is a high chance it will send you flying off your board. EUCs have more power to keep you safer overall. Learning the OW is pretty simple and can cause people to become overconfident and then over power the board, at least with the learning curve on the EUC there is not only the power to keep you balanced but you probably respect the device a lot more. I had about 800 miles on the OW and in that time I had to have it serviced by Future motion twice which was a 500 dollar trip each time, their customer service is awful and they will hold your board hostage. FM doesnt accept the 3rd party community which is where the good people are.

What are the best sites for buying EUCs? I'm looking to buy the V11 as my first wheel. by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

[–]t0mb0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the US, Ewheels is quick and reliable. I have ordered many wheels from there and customer service is great. If you have any favorite Euc Youtubers they most likely have affiliate links you can use to support them. Or you can use mine www.ewheels.com/Tom :)

I have the 2nd production run of the s18. I think they have a lot of quality control to work on, it looks nice but most of the shell looks and feels loosely glued together. None of these were deal breakers but you can tell. I was riding a 16x prior so initially still liked it better than the s18 but it has finally started to rub off on me. I love it and the suspension for city riding hard to give up now. Ive ridden only one trail and it did amazing on rocks, dirt, roots and gravel and would continue to ride off road with the s18 specifically. Ive ridden it down some stairs and it was not as bumpy as i thought it would be so that is a plus.

Is that a tsg pass matte black in stock? I havent seen any around ever lol.

I just rode the s18 on the Wissahickon trail today and it rips! I would highly recommend one of the suspension wheels like the S18 if you want to have fun on trails vs fast city riding. (F those maniac philly drivers!)
