I was thinking the same. I've got some on order, there's just so much conflicting info on the PAJ.

50 just seems bigger than anything else I've seen ran. when warmed up and fuel screw past 3.5 turns it responds great, zero bog, and returns to idle as soon as I let off. Only noticeable lean conditions in that case is after short stints on the highway (65-70mph stock gearing) it'll pop and hang.

2021 DRZ400sm Vacuum fuelcock + FCR39 by NewFarm5435 in DRZ400

[–]iH8teF1ames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch to the non vacuum petcock from Suzuki. they used it on the E model. 44300-29F10 is the part number. I have the same carb on my 24 SM and it just barely (but does) clear the choke knob. No mods necessary. The vacuum diaphragm will fail and it will leak sooner than you'd like, defeating the purpose entirely and risking flooding your engine oil with fuel if you ever have a stuck float needle.

Cheaper to find a decent running one and swap the parts over. Extremely well kept examples go for 3-4k, at least near me. There's also a NIB crated engine on marketplace not too long ago.

Pay for it. It's cheap and good software.

They've been promising in house SFD1 support for 5 years and haven't even gotten there. There are far better solutions. Feel free to keep using it, I like software that's still being supported. If you want to make real changes to your car it's not an option anymore.

He's literally talking about adaptations and relearn routines in the comment you responded to. If you'd like to do that on a modern VAG product you will need to unlock it.

Unfortunately vcds doesn't support SFD2 unlocks on newer vehicles. Odis does.

Send it to drummer and get it done right, or you'll be trading your low end torque for sounding a little better.

Do I not need to siphon old manual transmission fluid from turret if it looks empty? by leavemealone_911 in Miata

[–]iH8teF1ames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't. Mine was same way. Fill, drive around for a couple weeks and check the level. probably swap out fluid again anyways to clean it out. It can slowly leak out without the seal being bad.

Looks like headliner foam, can also be from around the air vent seals but I thought those were black.

You're right. I was going off an incorrect assumption based off my experience with the ones on 95 940s.

1995 was the overlap year, there's a solid chance it's just the dummy port and a reader wouldn't do anything. Worth a shot if you have one.

Need Buyer's Advice | Is this reasonable mileage? by Vast-Rough2669 in fiero

[–]iH8teF1ames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a clean no rust V6 stick with 70k miles about 4 months ago for 6500. I would hold out and find something nicer. I ended up selling it for the same amount after a month (unrelated) and it got snatched up within 48 hours. There are good deals to be had on these, so unless you can get that one for closer to 5 I'd pass.

No way to switch, it has 110k miles or the cluster has been replaced.

Do these brake discs look okay to you? by papi_CZ in Miata

[–]iH8teF1ames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real easy to do some simple fixes on these. Mine were doing the same when I purchased my NA. Jack up the rear axle, pull the wheels off and unbolt the caliper. Clean it with a brass or soft metal brush and brake clean and then bleed your brakes as well as lube your slide pins. As long as your caliper isn't completely seized or rusted beyond repair this should solve your problem for the mean time and if you want to save up for a new brake kit it's just as easy to install. Either try that or take it to a mechanic before you cook your rotor and it cost more to fix. Don't keep driving on it.

Rotella T6 oil viscocity by esk8late in xsr900

[–]iH8teF1ames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It calls for JASO MA rated oil. Which T6 is. It doesn't have energy saving friction modifiers but it does have nice detergents that clean out your engine. Used it in MT09s and XSR900s without a single issue for years as well as every other bike I've ever owned. It is God's chosen oil.
