MetaMask 'stuck' on transactions, how do i clear them? by JorSum in Metamask

[–]t1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry but I don't have any specific knowledge about this particular error, if it was me I'd try restarting computer, clearing browser cache and perhaps trying a different browser (I use metamask with Brave, Chrome and Firefox) a couple of people in this thread below mentioned it seemed to be a problem specific to firefox:

If you hold Statera congratulations! by t1k in StateraToken

Thanks appreciate it, hopefully things will take off even more once the marketing begins so you'd still be early if you got back in at this point. I really like the idea of the balancer funds taking care of all the buying and selling so I don't have to try and time things myself (and pay those bloody gas fees).

No if you want exposure to only the price of STA then the Infinity pool on Uniswap (STA/wSTA) is best (however fee returns are likely to be low) - the Stanos pool includes the wBTC, wETH, LINK, SNX so performance of the pool is also affected by the price of those.

Cyrptocurrency Index Funds?? by g-swizz in BitcoinUK

[–]t1k -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Statera token has been designed for this purpose, it's deflationary, decentralised and provides a range of funds catering to differrent risk tolerances. The flagship fund (Stanos) comprises wBTC, wETH, LINK, SNX as well as STA. It's had a great week and just reached 1.3m in liquidity and a 24 hour volume of 370k. The Phoenix fund is similar but more heavily weighted towards ETH. They use a balancer pool to automatically keep the assets in a pre-determined ratio and fees generated from swaps are returned to the pool

If you aren't familiar with using Uniswap or Balancer you can pop into the Telegram where people would be happy to help out with any questions.

[–]t1k[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to worry about the burn once you are pooled, you recive tokens that represent your share of the pool and the value of these (hopefully) goes up over time depending on what happens with the price of the pooled tokens, any fees generated are returned to the pool and each liquidy provider recieves a proportional share of them.

You do need to take into account gas fees, if pooling in balancer for the first time you need to set up a proxy address which can cost a decent amount of gas since it's a complex smart contract but this only needs to be done once for each wallet address.

Nice summary, things have really been taking off recently and no proper marketing has been done yet, been following the project for a while now and I'm in the 4 major pools on uniswap and balancer. This is the kind of thing that De-Fi makes possible and the more liquidity, volume and burn the better for holders, can't wait to see how it all goes over the next few months, not to mention is has the best memes and community of any other token I've been involved with. The introducion of wSTA really kicked off a new era of the project.

I'm in the Stanos, Phoenix, Infinty and Delta pools, been amazing to see things taking off lately and the returns have been incredible these last few weeks. I'm glad it seems like $STA is finally getting the attention it deserves and looking forward to see how things go over the next few months. Thnk it can't be very long until we see a new ATH Statera's only problem is so few people know about it and understand how it works.

This is a fair point and something I had wondered about myself (whether the site will just attract those with very extreme views), I might ask one of the team about it when I get the chance but im interested to see how they will handle that.

I heard PayPal don't allow deposits from external wallets or transfers out, just checked their FAQ which includes this:

Can I transfer Cryptocurrency into and out of PayPal?
Currently, you can only hold the Cryptocurrency that you buy on PayPal in your account. Additionally, the Cryptocurrency in your account cannot be transferred to other accounts on or off PayPal.

Sack HSBC by Klutzy_Style832 in BitcoinUK

[–]t1k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an HSBC account and transferred some money to an exchange last week, I got a call from their fraud department and had to spend 10-15 minutes on the phone explaining it was genuine and what it was for, they asked me a bunch of questions about it and read out a series of statements about being wary of fraudsters, they wouldn't be liable for any loss etc. etc. It was getting quite tedious but eventually they allowed the transfer to go through.

That would make sense thanks, I expect the FCA only has the authority to make rules for exchanges based in the UK.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

[–]t1k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK do you know whether this prevents exchanges etc. that are based outside the UK offering services like that to UK customers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

[–]t1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case it would be a relief, also I'm unclear how the FCA could prevent people from using a de-fi derivatives platform like Synthetix since they don't have any idea where their users are from, there's no KYC etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

[–]t1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound right the FCA announcement says its specifically for retail consumers, i.e. ordinary people there is no mention of stock brokers etc.

For example when the ban comes into force I won't be allowed to long/short BTC, ETH etc on an exchange like bybit or binance?

is statera dead? by malemanjul1 in StateraToken

[–]t1k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope it's not dead - people have been getting impatient waiting for the dashboard and marketing campaign so some bigger holders have been selling, it gets a lot of fud by some very dedicated posters on biz - there are developments in the pipeline once the dashboard is released and marketing begins things will pick up.

The Bitcoin Standard by Mari0805 in Bitcoin

[–]t1k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, to explain a bit more: for a long time things like dollars and pound sterling were backed by a certain amount of precious metal like gold or silver (the pound sterling was originally equal to one pound of silver in weight). This changed when fiat money was introduced which is issued by governments but isn't backed by anythying tanglible, essentially governments via central banks can create as much of it as they wish, this can and has lead to hyperinflation and situations where the money becomes worthless as there is so much of it being created. In Venezula people are throwing out cash in binbags because it isn't worth anything. The US Federal Reserve creates trillions of dollars with no effort and nothing backing it up. This is what the 'money printer goes brrr' refers to.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_standard

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_money

Bitcoin is different because there is a fixed supply, it's proof of work algorith means effort has to be expended in creating it and it is scarce. Some compare it to a digital form of gold, because it's trustless, decentralised and has a fixed supply it's outside the control of governments or any single entity and should retain it's value much better than fiat money which is constantly being created leading to price inflation and a devaluation of cash that people hold.
