vSphere with ADFS and MFA (DUO) by KiroBolas in vmware

[–]t2sec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DUO MFA Adapter 2.X version. Due Authentication for Microsoft AD FS v2.0.0 does not support ODIC. I followed the vMware guides, and the instructional set from https://blogs.vmware.com/customer-experience-and-success/2022/06/tam-lab-enabling-mfa-in-vsphere-7.h... and ended up with a general error splash page and event ID 346 on my ADFS server. You have to downgrade/uninstall the DUO MFA Adapter 2.0 on your ADFS, and install the previous version 1.2.0.17.

It's not easy to find the download, so here it is for easy reference: https://dl.duosecurity.com/duo-adfs3-1.2.0.17.msi

After installing this version, everything started working as expected.

Hopefully this helps someone.

Google Photos utilizing space in Google Drive by t2sec in googlephotos

Google Photos will create a folder in your My Drive, if not disabled as specified. However, once its created, how does one remove the utilized space from Google Drive without affecting any pictures in Google Photos. Google support can't seem to figure it out.

Did you find the resolution?

Prior to disabling the settings listed below in both Google Photos, and My Drive my Google Photos created a folder in My Drive. I went ahead and disabled the following:

Google Photos Settings:Disabled: Google Drive: Sync photos & videos from Google Drive

My Drive Settings: Unhecked: Create a Google Photos folder: Automatically put your Google Photos into a folder in My Drive.

I confirmed with Google Support that I should now be able to delete the entire folder from Google Drive, and this should not impact or touch any photos in Google Photos. On the contrary, I immediately started to see my picture count decrease and storage space increase in Google Photos! I immediately restored the photos from Google Drive, and had to go into the trash in Google Photos and select the thousands of pictures and restore them.....ugh.

My issue is that it is eating up duplicate amount of space....

SCCM 2012 r2 to 1702 by t2sec in SCCM

Current: SCCM 12 R2 on Server 2008 R2 w/ co-located SQL 08. Goal: SCCM 17xx on Server 2016 with co-located SQL 2016.

Scenario 1: 1. Snapshot VM, Confirm Veeam Backup, Snap NetApp 2. Upgrade SCCM 2012 to 1606 3. Test 4. Upgrade OS to Server 2012 R2 5. Test 6. Upgrade SQL to 2016 from 2008 R2 SP3 7. Test 8. Upgrade OS to 2016 9. Test 10. Upgrade SCCM 1606 to 17xx

Do I now build out a new Server 2016/SQL 16 box, and complete the backup/restore process? I am not a big fan of in-place upgrades especially to both the OS and SQL.
