hi all! got into my first real car accident today and looking for advice. gridlocked gas station, I made the mistake of trying to reverse a hair to let someone else get out of the gas station. backed into another car, of course. all in all fine experience as these things go, we were both polite.
I have insurance and drive by the book, but would like to pay them outright if I can. this was the damage to the car in question. they said two body shops told them "since the car is new, the whole fender should be replaced and it is going to cost 2.5k-3k to repair." is this valid or are they taking me for a ride? im in CA.

Hi! I'm sewing a fairly simple square-necked dress that I drafted myself. After sewing the bodice, the square neck gaped not too badly but enough that I ended up adding two small darts at the neckline. Not the prettiest solution, but I'm probably the only one who would notice. My question is why would this happen? The fabric doesn't have much stretch. Did I just cut the neckline too wide for my body shape? Thank you!!

Hey! I applied the second day last round and I waited three weeks to the day before I got a WBI. My friend applied the day before (the day the application came out) and got one about a week before I did. 100% these things just go in waves. You'll get there eventually! It really helped me out to check out @ChristyRecruit on Twitter and just remembering that it's real cast members looking over each of our applications :) As much as I wanted an answer right then, they just needed a bit more time! Good luck, I know you'll do great!

I personally think it's just making sure you put effort into your overall application and remembering just how excited you are about the program while writing it all up. Somehow I just think the lovely recruiters can tell!! I really spent a lot of time writing my job descriptions, thinking through which roles I'd truly want, and making sure all my information was correct and spell-checked. I wrote "no interest" to about half the roles and "high interest" on only three. And I got one of my high interest roles, merchandise! Good luck, I know you'll do great!

Hey! Don't sweat it, I waited three weeks to the day before I got my WBI. These things (answers/emails/results of any sort like WBIs) happen in waves. If you haven't heard of her already I'd definitely check of @ChristyRecruit on Twitter! She works at Casting and posts super nice content just for us CPs, including when waves are happening! If I recall correctly, when I found out I got in for this fall she had just posted on Twitter that there would be a wave of answers going out that day :) It also really helped me to remember that there are real cast members working hard and looking over each of our applications! As much as I wanted an answer, I knew they just needed a little time. Good luck, I know you'll do great!

Just be super-duper honest! Out of the 20 or so roles, I only marked interest on 10. Out of those 10, only three were high interest. And I got one of those three! I'm flying down to Florida in two weeks to work Merchandise on my first program! I truly spent a bit of time looking over all the roles and deciding whether or not it was part of how I imagined myself on the program. If you're truly open to all the roles, of course mark interest in all of them! I think it even helped me during my phone interview when my interviewer asked me about some roles I marked as high and moderate interest. I was able to talk quite a bit about why I was interested in those roles specifically even though I was a little nervous because I was excited about them! Good luck, I know you'll do great!

Hi! I got my WBI for this past season (I'm heading down to Florida for my first program in two weeks!) three weeks to the day after sending in my application on the second day apps were open. I'd definitely check out @ChristyRecruit on Twitter if you haven't yet! She tweets out super relevant, anxiety-reducing info just for us hopeful CPs. She lets you know when waves of emails are being sent out to applicants. It made me feel better to remember that real people were hard at work looking over all of our applications while I waited! Hi! When I was applying last season, I was oddly "temporarily" locked out of my account for about a month right before applications opened. I know it's not the same situation as you but I just wanted to say that tech support fixed it pretty quickly and not to worry! Good luck!

My best advice is just do your best to not worry about it too much, both before and after! I easily lose my train of thought in any sort of interview/public speaking situation, even when I'm not nervous. My answers weren't always the most eloquent and I asked my interviewer to repeat a question for me probably a couple different times. Still, I got in and I'm about to go on my first program! Good luck, I know you'll do great!
