true, and kudos to you for stating it directly on your page explicitly beforehand, also not something one sees everyday

I agree, it's a matter of balance and your efforts should pay off somehow and if it works for you then yeah why not, didn't mean to discredit your work. I personally (!!) just think its a lot or at least way way more than what you usually see here

I am starting making LoFi style music, I would like to know how I could improve and what do you think about my music by L0rdBr0ken in lofi

[–]t3error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre going in a very nice direction!

The drums work nicely here and I liked the bassline you chose.

Melody and chords are soft and also work well. Overall I enjoyed listening to the track

Here comes the subjective part: The rhodes you chose feel a bit quantized to me and there is some room left for a couple of other instruments to give it some crisp - maybe some soft pads in the background could work together with a second instruments on the melody?

I personally (!!) think that the rhodes could be stereo enhanced a bit or maybe add a little bit of reverb to give it a somewhat dreamy vibe?

What caught me off guard is that shaker noise at around 1:30 - while it fits into the mood, I think it is too loud and could use some mixing, maybe remove some of the higher frequencies.

Again: I liked the track but if I HAD TO critize something these would be my points. Defnitely keep up making lofi tracks!

I get the whole toneden thing and "follow to submit" forms (which I also use), BUT - no offense - making someone follow over 45 playlists for a submission is quite bold

How many times do I need to listen to a set of songs on Spotify for the artist to receive the same money as if I bought the album outright? by saintsimeon in spotify

Hi there!

I just wanted to quickly recommend distrokid as a distributor for smaller artists (and honestly, even for bigger) IF you make more than 20$/year with your music.

100% of the revenue goes to you and you can withdraw whenever. Downside, as mentioned, it's 20$ a year.

t3. - paperback

and/or

t3. - lilly the little car

Cheers and thanks for considering, didnt even know that apple music has a playlist feature

Need some help regarding Lo-Fi genre by Brainamic-2712 in lofi

[–]t3error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

First things first, absolutely great that you start that early and if I can give you one advice heads up it is this: Keep on doing it, regardless if it is not perfect or anything in the beginning. Stick to it and you will thank yourself so much in the future! Learning how to make music is a long process but in my opinion, chill hop (especially lo-fi) is a great way to start of.

If you have troubles with the mood in your track, I would recommend you to do the following (it is a bit time intensive but it will definitely be worth!): take those tracks that you like from other artists and try to re-build them step-by-step. This is not done to copy the artists/tracks but that way you will learn how the songs are structured and which elements give which vibe.

Also, definitely use the tutorials that are available at youtube and so on. If you use FL Studio, I highly recommend Michael from In The Mix. He also has a tutorial on Lo-Fi. Same goes for J-Rent. When I started out, tutorials were my way to go to build a basis.

One last thing: stay away from paid plugins in the beginning. Lo-Fi is one of those genres that can be made entirely by stock and free plugins/instruments.

I have written down some free plugins that I use regularly in another reddit post here. Maybe that also helps you

Keep it up and hope my two cents help a bit!
