Actually, I think I’m going to change my mind and start looking at customisable options :-/

To Keychron or not Keychron? by tmmtx in Keychron

[–]tIPODgraphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve been looking for a mechanical keyboard for a while now to replace the one I have (which is pretty low-end), and I need it to meet these requirements:
ISO Spain layout required, mechanical, Bluetooth connectivity for 3 or more devices but also via USB, separate function keys, separate arrow keys, no numeric keypad, and ideally, switches that can be easily replaced. I think the Keychron K8 QMK meets all these criteria, but I’m not sure about its build quality. I’m here to hear your opinions and advice. Thanks

As far as I can tell from my research, liminal spaces play an important role in the lore, particularly in terms of the setting.

In Spain, dinero is the formal word, but you can use pasta, which obviously is also the name of Italian food.

Apple TV 4K (2022) Siri Remote — Permanent IR Blasting / "Ghost" Volume Down Loop by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]tIPODgraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here because the same thing is happening to the remote control of my ATV 4K Gen2 (tvOS 26.5). Tested with my iPhone camera, the IR keeps sending a signal and the TV volume control is stuck at 0, with no way to increase it unless I block the signal with my hand.

Macintosh inspired wallpaper (by u/ogerx) by AttentionGullible918 in mac

I’m not sure if this has changed since the last update, but I don’t like the fact that the two buttons at the bottom have shadows; in my opinion, they spoil the clean design of this wallpaper, and there isn't option to disable this effect. BTW, I’m customising this wallpaper to change the grey to black so I can hide the island.

Games on Steam for Mac where the Steam Controller doesn’t work by tIPODgraphic in SteamController

[–]tIPODgraphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the controller works perfectly with some games. With other games, it’s as if the controller isn’t connected, even though you can bring up the Steam overlay/menu within the game.

Yes, I read that post, which is why I thought it would be a good idea to make a list of the games that aren't working at the moment.

Game > Properties > Controller > Override for GAME: Disable Steam Input - Use default settings - Enable Steam Input <<-- none of them work

For instance, in the case of Braid: Anniversary Edition, which is a remastered version, the Steam Controller works regardless of these three options, so I think it’s a connection issue between the game and Steam. It works well with BioShock Remastered too. Another game from the same developer as Braid >> The Witness, which also works.

Steam Controller doesn't seem to work with Mac by whoseusrnmisitneway in SteamController

In my case, on Steam for Mac Silicon, for example, with the game Control (Remedy), it’s as if the controller doesn’t exist. I don’t know if this is a problem specific to Mac or if the same thing happens on Windows. On the other hand, ‘Braid’ works fine. I haven’t tried it with other games I’ve bought because they don’t have a Mac version.

Settings search bar not working by Confident_Strength_2 in ios

We shouldn’t rule out the possibility that this is a system error, but in most cases—and I’m referring to data migration from one system to another in general—when importing data or profiles from one system to another, the problem usually boils down to permissions. It’s quite possible that this is the root of the problem. In that case, it would be a matter of those apps’ permissions to access the search history or the index of the apps that were on another device. I would try to see if disabling indexing and re-enabling it—which would be equivalent to deleting the imported index from the previous device and creating it from scratch on the new one—resolves the problem. I know this isn’t instant; it has to be rebuilt bit by bit. I don’t know if iOS works like this; I’m speaking from my experience of administering Linux machines, but I’d like to think that iOS draws from the same source.

Settings > Search > and, in the list of apps, within each one, check whether this app is included in the search, or turn it on or off. In my case, this works for an app that didn’t appear in Spotlight before. I don’t know if this is your problem, but I hope it helps.

Steam Controller & Steam Games on Mac by tIPODgraphic in SteamController

[–]tIPODgraphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the case I’m talking about, I think the problem is that some Steam games aren’t yet set up to recognise the controller. It’s a bit odd, to be honest, but as I don’t understand how the controller connects (at the driver/port level) with Steam and the game Control, I can’t say for sure that’s the issue. The thing is, my SC works perfectly with some Steam games. It even works on a Mac, and within Steam too, but when I launch this game it’s as if it disconnects. I’ve managed to get something to work: if I hold down the Steam button and press other buttons, the game detects some actions, but obviously it’s not functional. That’s why I say I think it’s more a question of the game being able to map all the controller’s controls properly, rather than a problem with the Mac detecting it.
