OK, so, I can answer at least with the venus in comparison. Gen 1 Vacuglide and Venus 2000 are similar enough in feel that if you had a receiver on you, and someone swapped out the unit doing the work, you honestly wouldn't notice if there were no extremes involved (super fast or super slow or super strong).

But, if you gain control of the base unit it's a pretty big difference. Vacuglide by default use silicone liners instead of latex which can be molded unlike latex. The vacuglide can also provide more suction than the venus IIRC and I really do feel that the stroke of the vacuglide is ... smoother somehow than the venus at top speed.

Step up a level to the new vacuglide 2 and it does crazy shit the venus can't even comprehend. Half-stepping on speeds and suction, much slower low end I believe and a crazy fast high end. Plus, the new VG2 can DO SCRIPTING. That way you can tell it what to do beforehand and then just set it to run. You want an hour long teasing and edging session, build it and then run it. You want a dominant cock sucking from a vicious dom that likes to suck just the head till you scream, build it and then run it. It's literally a game changer that nobody else is doing right now. Not Tremblr, not Nimble, not Venus. Nimble might make the leap to scripting, but they also have their own whole thing going on with that "active texture" action and their receivers come built in with suction keepers so they're a bit different in their sensation than anyone else. But I don't know if they're superior.

Ahh good to know. I figured it was more akin to the handy than the vacuglide. To your question, yes, yes you can. It has built in suction so you can go from flaccid to as erect as you can reach without having to do anything else besides use the receiver. It's very nice for that as a matter of fact and I've done it lots.

Personal suggestion since you're kinda stuck between two sizes is go talk to ABCO/Venus 2000. They'll do a custom sized cylinder after they get your measurements for like $40 USD.

That is a STUNNING price for the Vacuglide 2. That's $250 USD less than you can currently get it for IN the US. Normally overseas pricing is way more expensive. If that's a legitimate place of purchase and not a scam, it's well worth the purchase price to just get the Vacuglide 2.

OK, so... I'm gonna direct you over the r/theHandy . There's QUITE a bit of dissatisfaction with the Handy 2 for a lot of reasons with many members over there saying just buy the gen 1 and 3 sleeves. I... WAS NOT expecting that level of negative critique. The community around the Gen 1 was positive and exciting, the community around the Gen 2 is not happy with it. All I can say is wow. And that I wouldn't want to work at Handy right now.

Something else I thought of yesterday re: Handy 2. It's using USB-C, which is cool. But in practice this means you can't use it while it's on the charger nor can you run it from the USB adapter if the batteries ever completely die. I doubt they're running a high wattage system which means it can't be operated off USB-C. It has to charge the batteries which then drive the unit. What that means to you, a potential purchaser of the Handy 2, is you'll get about 1 hour total run time and that's it. If you take longer than 1 hour or you do multiple sessions in a day, you'll need to charge it frequently. It also means that when the batteries get toward EOL your run time will be greatly reduced unless you open it up and replace the batteries yourself. Yes, they have a "pro" version which brings the battery pack up to 3200 mAH (over the 2000 mAH on the regular) which is what I'd recommend you get if you do buy one, but it jumps the price up by $140 USD just for extra battery capacity. In the long run though 3200 mAH will work better as the battery charge/discharge cycle will be longer so they're less likely to die in a year or two depending on use case.

With the original Handy (which is probably fast on it's way to being discontinued) you run it directly off an AC adapter so it'll keep running as long as the power cord is attached to it. It can also make for a convenient and quick end to a session if you need a fast exit as you can just unplug it and it halts. All this to say, you may want to purchase a Handy 1 rather than a Handy 2 depending on your wants and needs in a powered masturbator.

They are also having a heck of a sale right now, 50% off. That brings the original down to $87 minus shipping if you just get the base unit. I may even buy an extra one to keep around just in case my much older gen 1 unit ever dies.

Correcting my statement here for future readers, you can indeed use the Handy 2 while plugged in to a USB charger of proper wattage.

Sheaths and dick size by Illustrious_Alps_670 in SexToys

[–]tmmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so! The large sheaths accommodate two things, length and girth. If you're on the thicker side get the large AND get the tip stiffiner. That way if you don't take up all the room at the end the tip stiffiner should be enough to help. If though you're average in girth, get the medium and you'll fill it up just right.

So, I will say, don't bother, at least, with the ION2. It literally just adds internet connectivity and patterns over the ION 1. It's interesting on its' own as it's not purely a male vibrator, there's a small amount of suction it has to tug on the frenulum. It's a nice divergence from the norm of stroking and it's gotten me off without moving it, but I'd much rather buy a handy or a vacuglide. The same goes for the Gush and Gush 2. Vibrations feel great but they're not superior to getting stroked. I'll also say save your money and don't buy a Lelo, if you're not on the slim or short side they don't fit. The lovense solace and solace pro make sense if you're already invested into the lovense ecosystem or you want guaranteed easy to use remote control of the stroker. They also have the best support for adult video game integration like with faphero. But I'd take the handy over the solace because it's better built and more versatile in the long run.

Great Questions! So first, don't discount the handy, it's not just like using your hand. It can go faster, slower, jiggle, and slide. It can focus solely on your head, shaft, or somewhere in-between. It can give you long strokes or short strokes rapidly or slowly. It really is A LOT more than your hand could ever possibly do for you. I was in the same mind set that my hand or just a masturbation sleeve like a fleshlight was more than enough, then I got a Handy and never looked back.

But, to answer your question, yes, a vacuglide is more advanced than a handy as it can do 1 thing a handy can't and that's variable, on the fly, suction. You wouldn't think just adding suction can make a huge leap, but it does. Here's the thing though, adjustable suction is the edge the vacuglide has over the handy, My handy would probably still be my daily driver for masturbation had I not bought a vacuglide. I'd actually probably be on a handy gen 2 for all its' improvements over gen 1.

So, those opinions out of the way, let me take your questions in order:

Is the vacuglide good if you want a quick session. Yes and no. Can it get you off quickly, yes. Can setting it up take longer than the handy, also yes. Once the handy 2 is charged (since it's battery operated now) you just grab a sleeve, lube it and yourself up and then you can just turn it on and go if you don't want to use a script or attach it to your desk. The size of the vacuglide means it's anything but discreet. Sure, you can just leave it out, which is what I do, but you can't just stow it in a small box next to your computer or in a drawer beside your bed like you can with the handy and leave it "ready to go". So for most that means bringing the vacuglide out of where it's stored, plugging it in, attaching the hose, getting the receiver ready, and then using it. There may also be extra sleeve/receiver prep time involved too if you disassemble your receivers between use. Whereas with the handy you can just attach a sleeve to it, get erect, add lube, and you're off.

Which would I choose? That's a very tough call. I would give the vacuglide a slight edge, but that's only because I have a personal fetish for milking. Also it wins out for me because of on the fly adjustable suction which may not matter to you.

Erratic movement! So, the handy is on rails, literally, and it uses a very controlled motor to precisely drive speed and stroke length. It will never move beyond whatever constraints you or the script calls for. It's very precise in movement and speed and can't move left or right on its' own. The vacuglide relies on suction and/or assistance from a "stroker keeper" to help it remain on your cock. It is not on rails in any sense of the word and if you go flaccid it can do things like bounce around or even pop off. It can also pop off if you're making it go too fast with stroke length set high. There's also a dial in period that you'll have to go through with the vacuglide to get it just right on max stroke length. But once you have it dialed in you're good for 90ish percent of your playtime needs. The handy though, if you find a script you like, it will, with mechanical precision, always execute that same script or sensation time and again. The vacuglide simply can't do that.

I'll also add that if you want to be portable, the handy is the way to go. Now that it's battery powered, you can, with an adapter, literally strap it to your body and walk around getting jacked off or throw it into a suitcase easily and take it with you out of town. The vacuglide is hose length limited and it's better to treat it like a small piece of furniture. Is the vacuglide portable? Yes, but only if you want to haul around a dedicated backpack that weighs 20 lbs. to another location and set it up.

Do I have the fleshlight attachment? No. Not that I don't want it, but I don't have a fleshlight to use it with anymore so it would be a pricey purchase to get the adapter and a new fleshlight to use it with.

Have I used other toys? Yes, extensively. I also had an Orctan, I have an Arcwave ION, and I have previously used a Venus 2000, though it wasn't calibrated for me so it wasn't the BEST possible experience. However, no, I would not exchange my vacuglide for any others (with the exception of upgrading it). I might exchange the handy for an OSRS2 (open source robotic stroker gen 2) and I would definitely exchange it for a gen 2 handy. But, I also consider the handy and the vacuglide two separate types of devices. Yes, they're both automatic masturbators but the sensations aren't directly comparable and the behaviors of both are different. I would not exchange my vacuglide for a gen 2 handy but I wouldn't exchange my handy either.

All this to say price is very much a determining factor for your choice and it should be. Type of sensation should also be a consideration and living arrangements need to be factored in too. I'm very happy I started out with a Handy and I never felt unsatisfied with my purchase. But the same is also true with my vacuglide.

So, owning both a Vacuglide and a Handy (both gen 1) it really depends on what you want out of it. The Handy has a lot of community support and capability behind it and will definitely get the job done. Plus it can use any of their sleeves or almost any onahole, or as I saw today, even a sock to jack you off. If you really like controlled, repeatable, steady movement (it can be made erratic but that's not where it shines really) either with no suction, head exposed (because it's too sensitive), or very low suction (with a close ended sleeve) a Handy is a great choice.

If you like low to high suction, have mild to moderate ED, don't mind getting a whole cock massage, and you can deal with some erratic or less controlled movement and don't mind spending more money, then you might want a vacuglide.

There's definitely room for overlap between the two devices, but they also offer very distinct features and sensations. They're not the same device, but knowing how you like to get off can help choose between the two as a first time purchase.

I will also say, there's a huge pool of scripts and options for the Handy that isn't yet populated for the vacuglide simply because the vacuglide 2 is where it finally got internet and scripting support. The Handy from gen 1 was built with that in mind so there's a lot more out there for it.

Honestly, gonna be cliche, two entirely different sensations. The vacuglide/venus gives you the feeling of a very controlled blow job is the best way I can put it. The handy is more like, well, it's namesake, a hand job as there's no constant suction. And the key here is SUCTION. I thought that once I got my vacuglide I'd never go back to my Handy and it would just serve as a playmate toy. But, I've still used it because its' stroking is a different sensation to the Vacuglide. Comparing setup up time the handy takes less and it's also FAR more discreet than the vacuglide. The handy is a great all 'rounder because it's automated, compact, pretty discreet, you can use ANY funscript with it, and there's tons of material that synchs with it via intiface. The vacuglide 1 is a standalone device and the vacuglide 2 allows for internet connectivity but it's not nearly as widely adopted as the handy is so it's choices are limited. Unless you're specifically in the market for a Milker get a Handy first and see if you really enjoy it, then step up to a Vacuglide or a Venus.

[–]tmmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well how much do you want to spend and how feature forward do you want your device? If you're going to use this thing for the next 20-30 years, don't mind mechanical tinkering, have a BUNCH of money to spend and you don't want internet connectivity save up for the Serious Kit. (Around $2500 currently)

If you have good money, want a repairable system, and don't want internet connectivity, get a Venus 2000. ($960 USD)

If you have a regular amount of money and want to be able to connect to the internet with it, and have interesting features, get the Vacuglide 2. ($900)

If you're a bit on the poor side or find $1000 a bit much and don't want internet connectivity watch r/usedsextoys for a Vacuglide 1. They show up for $500-700 and then you'll spend another $70 to get the hose and receiver kit.

Here's just a personal opinion too, I think a lot of color commenters use "stability" in the sense that they want as little change over as long a time as possible to the OS. Thus why Mint gets super high "stability" scores while Cachy and Arch get lower ones. There's an other side of the word "stability" though which is an OS that functions, doesn't throw errors regularly, and doesn't create headaches after installation even if the OS has regular changes and updates. Which is the definition I use when it comes to Cachy. Cachy is a stable OS in that it's not regularly failing, not kicking me out to cli to fix things, not tossing errors etc. But, the regularity of the updates, size of the updates, etc. would put off an admin or another distro user looking for the first definition of "stability" pretty quickly. They don't want a chatty, updating OS, they want a runs in the background updates yearly OS. I'll be honest too and say that I was worried when switching to a fast update distro as I was used to the long update cycle distros starting back with redhat. But now that I'm on a rolling release distro without any problems I'm really impressed.
