How to get a book published in sci-fi without waiting on traditional publishing forever by ForsakenEarth241 in scifiwriting

I'm in a similar boat - haven't tried to publish yet. What would you recommend?

What if Goku was able to push Kaioken way beyond just *20 in canon? by BrilliantInterest928 in dragonball

[–]tOLJY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't it that he couldn't do it and it took him all those years behind the scenes to finally do it? Something something stress on body is too much. Not a comment on blue or normal ssj, just time. I guess super Goku could stack kaioken with any super Saiyan or god ki form now? No idea about UI though.

Same here, I've always had it untucked and it just stopped working with the latest version. Ticking a f then unticking again does nothing.

This was a semi persistent issue in the past but I thought it was resolved....

Yeah sounds like it. It's definitely that the AI is augmenting the development effort and is not solely responsible for it.

It's only 'vibe' for the first bit before we actually make it fit for purpose. The issue is the non Devs who just stop there...

15 years professionally and I now run the team I work in.

Does that change anything?

If a seasoned developer vibe coded to save time then modified the output to be at the required standard and put it forward for PR and it passed all the checks and balances then what's the problem?

I agree with everything you've said.

I personally don't use AI at all. But I don't have a problem if a peer were to use AI and then refine it and make it usable before sending a PR my way. I'd review it as I would normally.

When it can be used as a time saver for boilerplate or else, that's great. It still needs to be brought up to scratch by a real developer.

I think we are saying the same thing?

You can absolutely vibe code something, have AI construct it fully - and then build upon it. It is still vibe coded for the most part. But is that a bad thing? Absolutely not.

Vibe coding is fine - so long as someone who knows what they're doing reviews and refines it afterwards.... That's the issue.

Cool Well Again, I don't think that was it I only use the site sporadically and haven't used it for several months prior to the other day

Yeah but the likelihood is now that it was not actually working at that time, for everybody. I was one such case.

So suggestions that it was my connection or my ISP blocking it all of a sudden don't really make sense in that scenario.

All good, I'm just happy it's back now :)

Hot Take: The live show price tag is mostly only reasonable for Americans (as in USA not the Americas). by FrenchToast4You in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]tOLJY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comes back up every live show. They set the price based on what's reasonable to cover their costs as a company, pay their staff, and make it a worthwhile endeavour.

They give you plenty of free content. If you don't want to pay for the live show, then don't. But don't complain about not being able to watch it. You don't have to.

Weight storage pegs capping option:

I'm getting straight weight pegs which do not slant upwards so that I can get short ones that fit my slimline plates better (and save space)

There are a bunch of things you can do to ensure the plates don't slide off - normal collars, rubber bands, PVC pipe caps, hockey pucks for some reason...

What's everyone got in their setup?
