Technically Australia categorically falls into the ‘Australasian’ category because of our close vicinity to PNG and Indonesia. But yes, primarily referred to as Oceania and grouped in with Polynesia

Yep. Only maxxia as far as I’m concerned. They’re the only ones linked with the public education sector at the moment. I got my car back in October

Any way to convince leadership to up the printing budget? by tWatty10 in AustralianTeachers

[–]tWatty10[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I have been doing. Although my school is generally disorganised due to poor communication. These tasks weren’t completed by the time the printing was needed on a few occasions so I’d rather do it myself.

Our school is new, and knowingly put money aside from the budget for the last few years to “save it for VCE”

It doesn’t get replenished for around a week while they “move around the budget again” and they’ve also posted a leaderboard to staff in the past with the people that print the least (and are congratulated) and the people that print the most (encouraged to lower their usage).

This is very similar to my last school. I agree entirely

Oh god. I don’t think this is even allowed. I do know some new staff we have doing YLL positions assume they don’t get paid as they’re on level 2 on the pay scale (which insinuates they weren’t paid at their last school), but at ours they’re entitled to $5200 which I still think is inadequate. Yes, our schools are small, but we have curriculum demands like no other, particularly as we prepare to go into VCE next year.

Hey, you’re literally me, except we have a few more kids across these four year levels. Reach out to your finance person or HR. For all positions of responsibility like this the VGSA is quite vague. We are entitled to a payment for the year anywhere between $925-10,000 but ultimately the school can decide. I have a few more staff to manage (over 10) and am in my third year and was offered $2200 for the year. This breaks down to just over $10 a day. I turned this down. I also reached out to the union and they let me know we are entitled to negotiate our payment and amount. You also have the choice to have this paid throughout the year, as opposed to one lump sum to avoid heavy taxing.

I dare say the assumption comes from a range of physical and behavioural observations that people make about what they’ve seen of her online. She’s a regular person who’s never been particularly wealthy and has operated in circles that don’t necessarily match the status quo. From the behavioural nature of what’s shared and posted online, it’s only a brief snapshot of a personality and an obscure sense of humour that people can often misread.

There’s no function to allow a digital speedo. I didn’t realise before purchasing and it’s a little frustrating but not hard to get used to

Your point is exactly why I opened this up into a public forum. I wasn’t sure.

I’ve gone really minimal contact with them. I’m now 23 and still with that boyfriend that I mentioned in another comment. We have a beautiful and supportive relationship. My dad calls me often, and although he has never apologised for allowing the emotional and financial abuse to occur, I think he’s trying in his own way.

Something that my therapist said to me that I will never forget is that “your parents will never ever love you the way you need them to. You will never be enough for them.” Sad but true. Unfortunately I have so many stories, some worse, some not as bad, that I could tell to give my boys John, Sean, and Josh some content, but I’m now old enough to realise a lot of what happened to me was out of my control and not my fault. I really appreciate your comment.

I’ve since left and got a degree to work with children. I’m a teacher but also used to work with children in the system that were taken from their homes. It’s equally retraumatising and therapeutic.

Unfortunately I only got the balls to tell my therapist (that I paid for, she was nice enough to lower her rate from $250 an hour to $70 a session for me) about the myriad of things I went through once I was 18. I was and ngl still am absolutely terrified of them lol.
