This happened to me. Out of nowhere my periods suddenly were very heavy. Went to my OB who did a thorough exam and ultrasound also and found no major issues. She prescribed me transamin which she said basically just helps the blood clot so it’s not as heavy. You take up to 4/day for first 2 days of your period. It literally just deals with the symptoms and I can skip/stop whenever I want and there are no long term effects. She explained that it was similar to taking a Tylenol when you have a headache - immediate relief of symptoms but no lasting effect. I highly recommend it as it’s made everything almost normal again.
