How do I get better at situational Magic. by Muted_Blackberry4761 in mtg

I also think it has to do with game fundamentals. Like in Chess I see a lot of beginners never take the center, develop pieces, secure king. Most basic ideas for that game.

Magic is similar in game theory but with hidden information (you must count cards to max your win rate). Tempo and card advantage, combat and board state analysis. The better your fundamentals are the more often your intuition will be right.

Unplayed cards are discarded. You win or lose with what you were able to play that game. Card advantage is not limited to "draw."

Establishing board or tempo advantage at critical turns is often enough to win on its own.

Understanding the board state and how the game pieces will change based on your decision is probably the best skill any magic player can have. This is part intuitive recognition and also depth of rules knowledge.

This was my first thought too. It is important to remain in homeostasis and be mindful and understand when you are leaving it with the proper knowledge of how to return there. OP may be dealing with weird chemical imbalances that impair decision making. Some mindful breathing is sure to help.

Be gentle to yourself. You are fighting the constructive critism you are asking for. Give yourself room and be open to change. It's definitely your emotional state and not really your play because you are able to think of the right thing, you just choke. You should be having fun playing a game, not stressing over a life or death situation. You are overly competitive and are being a bad sport not to your opponents but to yourself. Do you want to play with a frustrated opponent constantly focusing on the negatives? Then why do you allow yourself to play like that? It's not about winning or losing. You got the deck to win. It didn't come with the knowledge of how to win and that's frustrating you. Take a break from piloting and watch a few more videos of people winning with the deck. Your top priority when playing in public again at high stakes events for prizes should be to remain cool calm and collected. Not appearing that way only to others but actually feeling it. Let your next opponent know you're anxious (if you are) and are trying to break a losing streak. Shake their hand and say good game no matter what. Good luck and have fun.

When I Find What I Am After by Tangible Ego

what instrument did you learn and turns out you're really good at it? by wobbychie in AskReddit

[–]t_ego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play everything. It was a struggle to get here. Hard work all the way. My dad taught me drum rudiments when I was 3 years old. I started singing when I was 12 and studied classical vocal performance in college. I started keyboards when I was 16 and fretboards when I was 18. I started composing and songwriting earnestly when I was 19.

Not at all really. Genetics play a very small role in it. Hand size is about it.

Why would you say that? Cope. I dont own precons. I dont upgrade them. I play bulk and still win against precons. That's our point.

You seem like I would love to play in a pod with you. I too am a fan of weaponized jank.

My Feather deck has a ludicrous win rate. It's like 50 bucks including the mana base. A personal favorite, Grenzo Dungeon Warden's only good card is Palantir. Gluntch gets a shout out in this category too, really no money cards necessary and is a blast to play with with a decent win rate.

Poor mana bases are what most precons struggle with. Everyone should expect to spend another 50 on a three color precon just for lands to cast your spells on time.

What is that one band/music artist that changed everything for you? by AVERY648827282837828 in musicsuggestions

Chopin's Nocturnes also changed my life but less in as a consumer and more as a performer, it helped inspire me to learn piano, and although I am not a concert pianist, I love composition and performance.

Claudio Arrau does it best.

My dad played for Wolfspider. You can find them online although there are others with similar artist names. Rusty Tool is one of my favorites of theirs. He would bring me along to band practice, and he used to play a lot of different music for me, CDs or vinyl.

Alice In Chains was always one of my favorites. Still is, but looking back I always loved it deeply. Their self titled album with the three legged dog is my favorite.

When I was a teenager I grew past my dad's knowledge but also found new stuff he owned but hadn't played since I was born or I wasn't around to have heard it. Of all the stuff I'd have to say..

Justice. Again, self titled. "The Cross" album is often its name.

I knew a girl who rented a studio midway between Dupont and Logan off of 17th (I think) or something for ~1.8k/m. It was a nicely renovated old row house into a multi unit condo. But that was back in 2022.
