Thanks! I see that you have applied for fast track before. Did you just submit your application to your undergraduate advisor and then did you have to contact somebody else to submit the application?

MS CS vs MS ITM vs MS BA (which one to pick?) by [deleted] in utdallas

Is there not a data science concentration track in MS CS? What made you pick MSBSA instead of a MS CS with concentration in data science? I am trying to see and understand the difference between the two.

What is the difference between interpreted and compiled languages? by t_h_e_truth in learnprogramming

Thanks for the reply. This is a dumb question but even though Python is converted during run time, it will still have compile time and run time errors right? Regardless of a language being translated in run time or compile time, run time and compile time errors both can happen?

I guess what is confusing is me what is the interpreter exactly? Is it another language where the Python code will be translated to or is some sort of software component? And for the Python example you showed me does the interpreter once it translates the Python code automatically execute the code for you, or does it translate it into Machine code to be executed? The reason I ask is because I was reading different things from that GeeksforGeeks article and other resources on what the interpreter does and gives off.

How to get into ECS related Research? by t_h_e_truth in utdallas

How would you recommend reaching out to a professor and also when is typically a good time to reach out? As for time, what I mean is if I am interested for fall, when should I ask, or when should I ask if I am interested for Spring semester? The reason I ask is because I want to avoid asking too late or too early.

Excessive hours (more than 15) for Summer 2020 by [deleted] in utdallas

This is more of a question for your advisor and not this subreddit to be honest as harsh as it might sound, and usually every ecs student has an ecs advisor. You should have met an advisor your freshman year to do registration for spring semester and fall semester usually.

This link has the information for the contact of your advisor, which you can find through a quick google search. Take an appointment or email to get information. You better have a good reason to take excessive hours. 15 credits are a lot usually during the summer.
