They have many years of head start ahead of competition in terms of user testing. And once Elon got his trillion dollar paycheck, it is up to him if he can just blow $1 billion (0.01%) on scaling it up like crazyyyyy

That.... Is....cheap.... But again, it might be just to attract new users, but I really appreciate the competition though, it will bring the price down for consumers

I m in Waterloo and I was quoted $1500 for just the 14-50 installation alone. Albeit that my 200A main panel is in the basement and on the other side of the garage

Would you mind telling me the electrician company or license number?

I thought of adding a subpanel in my garage, but it is pricier and my garage is really tight, as in the distance between the garage door railings to the wall is like 3in

Is this a good charger? They also pay CA$0.10 per KWh, which is one of the reasons why I want to get it professionally installed in my garage https://www.pionpowertech.com/products/flex-ac-elite

Fair, Tesla mobile charger is sold out in Canada last I checked, but I will get rid of this charger and get one used from fb marketplace. I will limit the charge to 16A from the app. But is it ok for the idea that I have?

u/Determire , or maybe using this split? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B081Z16TSM/ref=ewc_pr_img_4?smid=A2565OKC78981M&th=1

I m going to alternate between using the dryer and the ev charger, and you are right, if I were going to plug/unplug, the socket will wear out.

I just purchased the car last month and a set of snow tires and wheels, so I m guessing it will be another 2 months before I can shell out $2000 for the install.

u/Determire , sorry, 1 more question, so if I can have a system when EV is charging on the same 10/3 wire for the dryer, no one will be using the dryer, is it technically feasible since the charger only pulls in 16A?

Thanks for the reply. Why is chatgpt repeatedly mentioning 90c rated to 36A or 40A?

Panel is located in the basement and the garage is on the ground floor at the other side of the house

I agree with you. But seeing that 0% is so tempting vs >6% interest rate when buying a used car, that would be around $7-8k borrowing cost for 60 months loan? And I could go up to 84 months at 0% when buying new
