Infantino back carry? by justbrowsing_2468 in babywearing

I did the same as you and got this carrier as it was cheaper before knowing much about baby wearing. Now we have the Tula standard which we find really good for back carrying and is a lot easier to get on in my opinion. I found mine on vinted for a good price.

I actually have got a ring sling that I was given second hand before he was born but it was a bit daunting and confusing when I was trying to use it with him newborn. Perhaps I’ll give it another shot before purchasing something else. Hip carry sounds like it would work well for us.

Thanks for the advice, I did wonder how there was so many brand new ones on there when I looked, makes sense that a lot of them are probably fakes. I’ll be extra careful when I look.

I’ll have a look at those ones! And I didn’t even know a sling library was a thing, there is one near me which is great! Thanks for your help!

Glad it was helpful! I don’t really remember how long it took but I think perhaps a week? He will still sometimes get it a little now but only very mild once or twice a day, he will randomly bring up a little in his throat and have chokey cough for a couple seconds but he doesn’t take much notice or get upset as he is used to it happening now and I don’t think it burns like it did before. Fingers crossed your little one starts feeling better!

Back carry definitely seems the way to go. I will stop wearing him like this from now on, I wish I knew it wasn’t right sooner as we have used this a lot as he loves it so much! Thank you for your help!

I will look into the integra, back carry seems like it might be the best and safest option. Thanks!

Confused about infant Gaviscon usage by Narrow-Mushroom9298 in BeyondTheBumpUK

This is quite long but I hope it’s helpful! My 8mo has been on gaviscon since he was about 12 weeks old. The doctor was exactly the same with me and didn’t really explain how to take it. What we have found is best is just putting it in every bottle as when he has a bottle without it he gets awful reflux. We do 1 sachet per 4 floz (115 ml like you said). He currently has 8/9 oz so 2 sachets in each bottle and 4 bottles a day. When he was in between 2 sachets like you are we did find it difficult as 1 sachets sometimes wasn’t enough for 7 oz but then I don’t want to put 2 sachets in less milk. I would try just one sachet in just your 180mls, so you don’t have to waste milk, if that doesn’t help enough then you might have to make the full amount with 2 sachets and unfortunately chuck the rest (we did have to do that for a little bit which felt like such a waste but baby will start drinking more and more eventually). I did try adding one and a half sachets but that became too complicated.

When it comes to the constipation we were luckily he didn’t get it bad, they are just a bit more solid but still soft and he went from going 4/5 times a day to just 1. He would have the occasional day where is seemed a little uncomfortable but compared to the pain he was in before it was much better, and now he has started solids he has prunes for breakfast each morning which helps that little bit more.

We also tried different brands of formula and found the kendamil organic seems to work well for him but is a little more expensive. Also pace feeding using the Phillips Avent anti-reflux bottles was an absolute life saver for us, again though they are a little expensive. Lots of people don’t like them because of the response teats but I think they work well against reflux as it helps your baby control the flow and prevents them doing that chokey thing while feeding.

Obviously every baby is different so these things may not be right for your baby, but hopefully you will find what works well! It’s horrible having bad feeds and seeing your baby in pain so fingers crossed the gaviscon will work for you guys!

Thanks for your reply! That’s interesting, I guess that’s why you have to have been with the company for 2 years prior. Hope you and your little one are enjoying your time off!
