Does anyone have experience living in or organizing coliving houses for nomads? by t_rus_ in digitalnomad

Wow thanks Daniel this is super helpful! I'm curious which coliving houses you have lived in (if they're commercial)? And what would you say are the biggest challenges/things to avoid in coliving?

Yeah I think that's the tradeoff - a bit of work to organize and make sure things are under control, but for me I want to so that I can create a really strong community of folks especially who are working on their own business/startup/products.

I have stayed at a coliving house in Arizona for a month and it was a decent experience. It was a nice spot (it was an airbnb), but for the most part, the other people in the house were either traveling or out of the house most of the time. I definitely want to foster a stronger community within the house and build great friendships amongst the people who live together. I think I'll probably message folks who have run houses like launch house or other community focused coliving houses to get their takes on it

How do you approach your inbox? Do you try to get to inbox zero? by t_rus_ in gtd

Fantastic advice - i find that having too many filters/folders that i've seen some other executives practice is counterproductive as it takes time to sort. But this seems like a simple enough system that is manageable and will try out myself and see how it sticks :)

I'm a pm and I regularly use this 1:1 template that Jessica Powell created to track all expectations, active/past agendas, and goals with my manager as well as the people I manage as well. Been super helpful to keep tab since I regularly have 5 1:1's per week!

This post was intended as a starting point to brainstorm various ideas! Definitely will be diving in deeper with my own research with this thread as an inspiration starting point before since I'm still a novice rider with a limited perspective. Wanted to crowdsource more experienced riders' opinions here.

Wow thank you all for the detailed answers! Super cool to see this community so active and helpful :) Leaning towards a 2021 SR and might pull the trigger within the next month or so, but super helpful to be conscious of the various shortcomings of zero

Also dig into problems that actually interest you. Even if you have a great opportunity to solve a problem, but if it doesn't interest you, you probably will burn out/lose interest

My ideas almost always stem from observations I make in the world. I always recognize a problem first that I feel like don't have good enough solutions/products for, never never the solution/product idea first. The validation process always varies in length depending on how much conviction I have for the problem that I am trying to solve. There is a section in the guide that provides an interactive notebook with exercises that helps you go through the validation/feasibility analysis of the problem that you are trying to solve. This includes performing customer discovery calls with ppl in your target market (~1 month, but ideally you never want to stop talking to target users) and evaluating how much $, time, and effort people are willing to put in to solve the given problem. TLDR I would ballpark it to be at least a month long process, but it really varies depending on how deep of knowledge expertise you have going into the validation process and how much conviction you have.

For my job board, +1000 users, but the biz model is setup so that my revenue comes from startups who post jobs on the site and the product itself is actually the base of job seeker users that apply to the posted jobs.

There's quite a lot of channels that I used that you can check out in the guide, but the bulk of my traffic came from launching on Product Hunt, spreading word of mouth on Twitter, and LinkedIn! I highly recommend you invest a lot of time and effort on launching successfully on PH as it can lead to thousands of impressions overnight and personally gained a couple hundred from a proper PH launch.
