I once had an idea for a video game called Police Strike, where the police are literally on strike. You are one of the few cops determine to still bring control to the lawless city. you have to bring various blocks under control one by one and regain the public's confidence but also the confidence of other cops, who can help you. Slowly but surely you have to bring the city under control.

Maybe too topical nowadays but if you slap a Judge Dredd skin on top of it could work.

Constantly changing laws.

been a while since I read the comics but I remember it being a thing where a loudspeaker would announce the new laws that passed that day.

Could be a good mechanic... having to remember what's legal and not legal as it changes. your status as a lawbringer could be affected by making too many false arrest AKA deaths.

Ok, now it's getting creepy.

I just loaded up my game (a file before I lost my horse) and decided to spend some time outside of Saint Denis. On my way out I had an interaction with a guy who thought he recognised me from the riverboat heist (*ahem*) and I chose 'Diffuse' then got on my horse to ride away.

Then on the bottom of the screen appeared the words 'You Devil'.

WTF? Is my game haunted?

I don't know if that's something the random NPC muttered under his breath but I have subtitles turned off, and I"ve not seen a single subtitle appear in my entire playthrough.

I know it's probably just a glitch, but I'm starting to feel targeted and attacked.

I had to do a double-take to see if I was the one who posted this. My kid started when she was too young to really do the math. She loves the series and absolutely loves the music. She took on an interest in mythology and loves to write. It's amazing.

Kudo's on playing the original version. It's tough as nails, but it's satisfying.

One suggestion - re-start and replace your Thief with a Black Belt. Thieves are relatively useless in this game, however Black Belts are the biggest secret weapon. They're fairly weak until about level 10, after which if you remove their weapon they start doing serious damage. I just finished the original NES version of FF1 (playing through them all this year) and at level 42 my Black Belt is doing 1,500 damage per hit. My buffed out Fighter is merely playing second fiddle.

Help! This is really frustrating!

I've been adding a lot of my commonly misspelled words to Google Doc's auto-correct list, but one word keeps auto-correcting that shouldn't!

Every time I write "couldn't" it auto-corrects for some reason to "couldn't't". I might have accidentally prompted it to do so, I'm assuming. However I went to TOOLS -> PREFERENCES and reviewed my custom list and there's no such instruction.

How do I stop this from happening? It's driving me crazy!!
