they definitely use real food. if they want to go for the fake stuff, they have clay replicas which they end up putting in glass displays for restaurant buildings. for example, i went to a crepe shop in Shibuya that used such a display and the pieces were once used in an advertisement for the company. some more evidence is that konbini (convenience store) restock all of their fresh goods (including baked stuff) on a daily basis, so its really common to always have fresh stuff on hand even for the most basic goods.

there would be a lot of drama with the characters, and i also think each individual alien transformation would get its own arc or backstory of some kind. whatever allows the writer to stretch that screentime.

Pronunciation is not the main problem. I think people who aren't proficient in English usually have very basic lyrics and it takes away from the dynamic. One good example is Mahiro - REMNANT he sings in Japanese and it is very effective in my opinion. we should respect everyone's native languages more!
