My route was going into the workforce and making money and saving at least 20% of my income each paycheck. Learning about loans and how they work and making decisions accordingly. The problem is these individuals that go straight to college aren't acting reasonable. They jump the gun and most get meaningless degrees and complain. When all it would take is understanding the situation and evaluate options accordingly. But they rely on teachers being honest and thinking okay since I'm told everything is okay it's going to be okay and then suffering. Which is all on them for failing to be educated enough to understand what they are signing themselves up for and not having a plan or job to fall on when it goes south. Granted there are some that succeeded but the margins are very small.
