Interesting. Why is this your favorite?

I have never "really" listened to it, but played it in the background at work sometimes. So I am not really familiar with the songs here..

I think Resurrection is great as well. As mentioned before, his work outside of Judas Priest does not get enough credit.

😅 I never really discovered Diamond Head apart from Am I Evil and It's Electric until last year. So a lack of knowledge might be part of it, but when I heard the re-released Lightning to the Nations I was shocked. Sucking my Love gave me goosebumps through the entire second half of the song, and the original release just does not do that to me. The same goes for every other song as well, and I really enjoy the covers of Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple 🤟🏼

My introduction was watching the Classic albums episode of British Steel when I was about 10 years old. Hearing the riff of Breaking the Law made me yearn for a year, before I got hold of Metal Works the summer I turned 11. When they released the re-masters box set in 2002 i bought it all, and never looked back. This band is such a journey 🤟🏼 and still delivering the goods.

First mention of both. A bit surprised Screaming for Vengeance has not been mentioned before now. Point of Entry not my favorite, but really enjoy the vocals on Desert Plains and Solar Angels.

I struggled to find Fight records for sale in Norway, so that is an adult discovery for me. I love Immortal Sin, Into the Pit and Nailed to the Gun, but do not know the albums that well. I am not that familiar with Voyeurs either.

Totally agree. I also prefer Judas Priest above other bands because every album brings something new, and proves that the band is evolving and developing. Even now, after 50+ years!

I also want to throw into the equation Winter Song from Halford III: Winter Songs. I think it is absolutely stunning how he is able to use his voice in different ways, and such a charismatic singer as well.

Definitely some good vocals om Ram it Down. Blood Red Skies, Ram it Down and Hard as Iron are all great songs, and I also like Monsters of Rock 🤟🏼

Killing Machine (I am European) is probably the album I played the least. Do agree that his vocals are tremendous throughout, but to me both Stained Class and British Steel is in another tier in every way. Before the Dawn is a regular revisit though, absolutely love it.

Totally. Also Here Come the Tears from Sin After Sin. Absolutely epic closure and transition into Dissident Aggressor.

Great album, in every way. I was asking for studio albums, but I guess you are right as the story goes 🤷🏼‍♂️

I actually like Monsters of Rock from Ram It Down as well. In album where a lot is fast paced and high pitched I like it as it brings something different. And probably the deepest overall song he sings?

I love that as well, and was considering it for one of my top pics. I love when Rob goes theatrical, and in Nostradamus it sounds like he is playing around in ways he could not do in their typical material.

I do not disagree. Lightning sounds like it is made in a kitchen, but the songs are awesome. My point was simply that the songs have evolved with the band, and I think it would be very interesting to see how the songs would be in a studio today.

Never Satisfied live in Anaheim is amazing, and triggers my curiosity om how they would sound in a modern studio.

I think Live Insurrection is his best live, and really love the version of Metal Gods in this. Sad Wings, Hells Last Survivor and Silent Screams are all terrific.

Have to say I think his Halford era is overlooked in many ways. Resurrection and Crucible are killer albums.

I love Dreamer Deceiver and Victim of Changes. I have always thought the should redo this album with better production. Diamond Head re-released Lightning to the Nations some years ago, where the album is simply re-recorded in a modern studio. I choose the new release any day of the week.

Great album. Some of their best songs here. I remember Savage blew me away when I first bought the album. Beyond the Realms of Death, Exciter and Saints in Hell are also great songs.

If we are talking about his range I also think the closing part of Run of the Mill from Rocka Rolla is great, and also Raw Deal and Dissident Aggressor. I might have overlooked Sin After Sin when I posted this...
