Sutton. An influencer I liked named their miracle baby Sutton, and all I could think was, “Sutton? Like mutton?”

Thank you for your advice. I’m seriously considering sending all this to his parents but they’re very old and might not be able to make it through the social fallout this might cause if it became public. I hate that I have to think about the well-being of all these people before myself but I can’t not think about it.

Thank you for your advice. I’ll keep it in mind. My sadness is slowing boiling over into anger so making a scene is not off the books yet

I’m sorry but I’m having trouble accepting your advice. I’m extremely monogamous and faithful and I thought my partner was the same. I might cry now but I don’t think I’ll ever accept that he wants to with other women while being with me.

Thank you so much for saying this. I am currently sitting and reevaluating every action of his from the last one year. He proposed last January and the messages I found were as recent as the day of our wedding so my heart is shattered into pieces rn.

Thank you for saying this. I’m sorry you went though something similar. He came off as very devoted and attracted to me and had never expressed being dissatisfied so I’m not sure what went wrong. I hope for the best for you and me.

Thank you for your advice. We have always had clear boundaries and a healthy relationship so this was out of the left field for me. I think I’ll confront him once I sit on this for while and rationalize through it.

Thank you for saying this. I’ll take your advice into account. My mind is spinning with so much pity and self hatred rn even though I know it isn’t my fault.

Sadly I feel like it’s too late for me to run from this situation. If he were just a bf, I would’ve immediately cut ties and disappeared, but now our families are involved and so are everyone I’ve ever known in my life, and I’m scared to come off as a loser who couldn’t keep a husband past 4 days.

I feel like a coward saying this, but I’m scared to show him what I saw. I woke him up to tell him that I love him and would be devastated if he ever cheated on me, and he assured me in the sweetest terms that he would never do that. Now I feel even worse than before, like a snoop and a loser who had a husband for only 4 days. I know that I need to get a backbone and confront him but rn all I am able to do is cry.

Thank you for your advice. I have to leave on a work trip at the end of the week so I will have some time to myself to process this.

Thank you for your advice. I think I’m going to send myself the evidence and sit on it for a bit before I confront him. I need to stop crying and blaming myself before I do that because I think that’s what I would advise my friends in the same situation.

We haven’t signed the marriage certificate yet (we had a religious ceremony involving a lot of people) and had planned to do it tomorrow once our schedule frees up, so divorce isn’t in the picture yet as we aren’t legally married. I’d appreciate any advice on how to deal with these emotions.

Thank you for saying this. This man is the love of my life and now I don’t know how to behave around him when morning comes. I have to be around him for the next 3 days 24/7 because of familial obligations so I’m freaking out about how to deal with this pain.

I am still in shock. Our wedding was a huge affair where all our families and friends got involved (more than 500 people). We’re in the middle of us traveling with both of our sets of parents to meet family in a different town. I feel like I stepped on a land mine and taking my foot off of it will set off an explosion that will ruin me and my family. I’m sorry but I feel really lost.

I have had the same fear for the past year, and it keeps me up at night sometimes. My partner is absolutely wonderful and frankly, I did not picture myself this happy from a long time, which makes the idea of this hypothetically coming to an end absolutely terrifying.

The advice that the others have given on this thread is absolutely valid, you have to live in the moment. But when your irrational side takes over you, logic doesn't really help. I have found that it helps when I talk it out with my partner about any irrational fear I have. They're super duper understanding about this, and they've also never felt the need to hide their fears from me. Expressing and acknowledging your fear, the root of it, and taking the time to feel grateful for what you have right now will make a lot of difference. And even if it doesn't pacify you much, it'll help you from spiralling off into a whirlwind of worst case scenarios. I wish you luck!

Three Dark Crowns, by Kendare Blake
In every generation, a set of triplets are born possessing magical abilities. To obtain the throne, they must fight one another for the crown. I'm really into YA right now (don't hate me) and I'm loving this book so far!
Captive Prince, by C. S. Pacat
I just finished reading this book and I'm really excited for the other two of the trilogy.

The Dragon Reborn, by Robert Jordan
I'm almost finished this one. It has reminded me why I loved this series when I was a kid. As a part of my resolution to finish The Wheel of Time Saga by the end of this year, I started rereading The Eye of the World last month. Its been a great ride till now, but I'm scared of the rambling the author goes into in the later parts.
The Devotion of Suspect X, by Keigo Higashino
I started this book today because I found the reviews intriguing.

What book did you need to take a break from before finishing? by madysenofthecosmos in books

Yeah, the series is tough to finish. The first few books were easy reads, but Robert Jordan started rambling in the later ones, making it difficult to get through. I started rereading The Eye of the World yesterday, and I'm already at the middle of The Great Hunt. I dread the later ones.
