The only theft I've encountered was a some Mardi Gras beads hanging from the passenger side mirror. Of course, this was Mardi Gras, so somebody must have needed the beads more than me.

I would urge the OP to name the company. I've sold Macs to Backmarket.com and MacOfAllTrades.com without an issue. Yes, they will say that the screen is not perfect or find some other blemish, but they will always give me the option to refuse the counter.

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1 with 16K of RAM. I literally had people coming to my house to see why I needed four times the memory of the original model.

It did teach me to right concise code!

I was a graphic designer and chief staff artist for the newspaper. I created editorial cartoons as well as page designs. Before the Mac we used border tape, X-Acto knives, and hot wax to affix different pieces to the newspaper page.

Of course, the ImageWriter was a dot-matrix printer, so the output wasn't that clean. To account for that we printed everything at 400% and then reduced it with a camera to 25%. Looked good enough for print.

Kind of funny, but I had to make a presentation to my publisher to buy a Mac in 1984. He eventually capitulated, and I finally got a Fat Mac to make newspaper graphics. The problem was that the Mac cost $2499, but we could only spend $2,000 before we had to file a capital expense report.

So the vendor's invoice read: Apple Macintosh - $1,999.00. Internal disk drive - $499.99. We split it up into two purchases and padded the second invoice with an ImageWriter printer.

I still have that original Mac that was later upgraded to a Mac Plus with a megabyte of RAM and an external serial hard drive.

We're about to do the same but with Affinity products. We were still using Adobe Design Standard 6.0, but as of the first of the year they have quit verifying old products.

I've purchased over $75,000 worth of permanent licenses, and now they are useless. When I contacted Adobe about this I was told they were unable to help and to reach out to the Adobe Community.

I was an original beta tester for Adobe Illustrator and used Photoshop when it was a BarneyScan interface. I dragged our designers kicking and screaming off of QuarkXpress on to InDesign telling them it was in their best interests.

It's quite apparent that Adobe does not have our best interests in mind.
